Kochi no Kurozakura-go (高知の 黒櫻号) aka "Sakura"

Well, Sakura arrived late last night. She traveled very well and was pretty social when I picked her up. It's always kinda an event bringing a new dog home to the other dogs, especially when it's in the middle of the night.

Anyway, she is very cute and very loving. She's a little hesitant with people she doesn't know but warms up very quick with treats.

So far she's been great with the dogs.

Here are just a few pics and videos...

wow! so happy for you that she is with you at last. did you have any problems with customs or papers or anything? i cant imagine how difficult it could be importing a dog, especially from japan. i think it would be hell to do in the uk, never mind that this breed is banned but a breed that isnt would be endless red tape, costly and difficult for the sake of being difficult. she is adorable.

It was really cute, she got here late so Chase was sleeping, and then Chase didn't wake up till 10am or so. So Sakura had no idea there was a child in the house. When Chase woke up and Sakura saw her you could see Sakura just light up. It was really cute.

It's really not that hard to import these days. The airlines and/or broker takes care of most of the customs and such. So, aside from the cost, it's pretty painless. The hard part, IMHO, is finding a breeder you trust that's so far away.

The Airline breed bans was an issue tho, the Tosa is banned with most Airlines. I found a easy way to work around this tho (which I'm happy to share in private.)

Bah adorable! I love dogs that love "their" children. Hopefully they will form a bond of sorts.
