How can this be a serious question Why would you want to breed a dog with health issues ???Should we breed with a friend's male English Mastiff that has been having a lot of seizures lately?
Gina
Can you just answer the question???? What the hell is wrong with all of you?? We're best friends with the people and they have an amazing dog. No, I don't know much about breeding and we are tossing the idea around and trying to make an educated decision...no thanks to any of you. At first your comments made me think I was a complete idiot for asking because it is ok....now it looks like you are saying it is not. My vet said it is not hereditary and should be fine. I thought I'd see what the pros on line had to say....I had no idea I was entering such a hateful place. I am literally at a loss for words with the time I have wasted on this board this afternoon.

So what if the vet was wrong? What if you have a litter of 10 gorgeous pups and they go to their homes in 8 weeks and 1 has a seizure and dies? Guess who's holding the bag? YOU!!!! Guess who will want their money back. Guess what will happen when the other buyers found out you knew the father had seizures and bred with him anyway. Guess who will be in bankruptcy court because all the buyers want their money back. DING DING...YUP YOU
