Help with possible scratched eye

I got home today to find a note telling me to check Monkey because Jiggers did something to her. Her underside of her left eye is swollen and there is a cut on the upper lid. Something definitely hurt her. Jiggers has become a pushy brat with everybody in the last couple of weeks, likely due to less activity since even he doesn't want to be outside. One way he does this with the cats is he will paw at them and I could see that being what caused her injury.

It has to be uncomfortable and painful for her. I do plan to call the vet tomorrow and see if they can get her in just to make sure there isn't any serious damage but does anybody know of anything that can help her overnight?

Would she let you put a warm damp cloth on it? Clean a little of the dried gunk away and maybe the heat would make it feel a smidge better?

Based on advice from another source I rinsed it out by dripping saline solution into it. That was fun to do (sarcasm). Give me a dog to treat anytime before a cat, even if it's 200 instead of 10 lbs, it's much easier.
Thankfully she is still wanting to play and has some of her normal attitude although she is subdued.

Let us know how it turns out. If it looks like she is getting uncomfortable I would try the warm compress.

I think rinsing the eye helped. It looks better and her personality is back completely. She's feisty again instead of trying to hide.
She also wants nothing to do with Jiggers, hisses on sight, so he likely was the cause.

That poor baby yea rinse with the saline and maybe put some heat if a problem persists and i agree if she is hissing at him he probably is to blame

I took her in to see the vet and he confirmed that there was no trauma to the cornea, so that's a relief. She does have blunt force trauma to the tissue under her eye and 2 small cuts to the edge of her upper eyelid. He thinks that they are small enough that they will heal on their own so all I need to do is put a single drop of antibiotic solution in that eye 3x a day for the next week to prevent infection.
I did have a surprise on the way to the vet however. I glanced at the carrier and saw green eyes in a black face instead of blue eyes in a grey/white face. Skreea has the nickname 'Little Ninja" and apparently got into the carrier before I put Monkey inside. They had time so she got a check up too. The office staff also got a laugh, apparently they've never had someone come in with 2 cats by mistake before.
It was a crowded carrier.

Both of them appear to be fine following their trip outside. It's -21C and they are inside only cats.

Glad to hear monkey is ok!! Eye injuries are scary but they also seem to heal quicker.

Diesel has been a brat with the weather here also. He does not like rain and mud and refuses to go out for anything other than potty. We have also been sick with cold/flu/plague since xmas so haven't been well enough for normal walks either so between his refusal to play in the yard and the lack of walks he is a little pent up brat. And he thinks I am a mean bully for making him behave inside .

Your skreea looks just like a cat that has adopted us in the neighborhood. Not sure where she came from but she insists we feed her along with our other cats. We have been calling her VooDoo.

That's hilarious that the black cat went along for the ride! Glad it's a low-grade boo-boo. Hope it heals up quick!

You had a stowaway! Hahaha, I love it. Glad Monkey is going to be okay. They're both beautiful kitties!

Thank you. That's what I called her too. Guess I need to learn to check the carrier before I put a cat inside it now. Silly girl.

Glad to hear it's minor and doing better already! Never heard of a cat voluntarily going into a carrier - that is too funny!

I noticed today that the 2 sides of the slit have joined together on the cut towards the middle of her eye. I can't see the one in the corner without manipulating the lid and the last thing I want to do separate it if it has joined. The fun part is that she has started hiding during the time frames where I need to give the drops. Thank god I clip her claws regularly though as she is used to be flipped, set in my lap and held so she is calm until the drop hits her eye and then all bets are off.
Looks like we got lucky with this one and training on leave the cats has been stepped up as well as training her not to attack Jiggers now.
