bike tow leash

Bit the bullet and finally bought this! Hector would not run happily off leash next to a bike, so I got this and it works very nice and he trots nicely next to me without any complaints. Well he complained a bit but stopped. Showing you the before bike leash video and after.

Hey, that works really well. Do you groom Mutt yourself? Because he looks great.
Thanks! It does. Worth the money. I was grooming him myself. I was and am planning on taking him to the groomers to get his coat shaved half length. All I did was shave his legs and I do keep his bum shaved otherwise he gets poop on it. I tried to shave his face but with little skills and no clipper extension it was terrible. His coat looks really nice because of the shea conditioner.Deb the rescue lady calls Mutt the llama boy because of the shaved legs.

What shea conditioner dio you use? Zoe has super dry skin this year!
Earthbath sheapet shea conditioner from amazon. It worked really well on Mutt and he did used to have dry flaky skin, but not anymore. I also used it on Hector, but his skin wasn't flaky so I don't know if it had the same effect on both dogs. The conditioner is concentrated so use a little and rinse a lot. It left a bit of residual on Hec's coat because apparently I did not rinse enough - crazy. Not overbrushing and bathing in cool-low warm water helps.

Test run with SAR hounds!! Hitch (first pic) has excellent voice control. Cedar (2nd pic) pulls like a freight train. Since she couldn't use her nose, she looked like she was skip hopping the whole time lol. She didn't pull because she was confused and the main thing was she couldn't her nose. When that dog put her nose to the ground, you better be ready - kid you not.

So with the pulling, it doesn't pull you over? What bike tow is this? It seems functional for our lifestyle if I could find an empty location to use it.

I was wondering this, too. I think Yogi would love doing this, and I want to work on his conditioning, but I'm not a confident bike rider at all. I'd have to practice before I ever hooked a dog up.

Cedar tried to pull me at one time, but it didn't budge so it does control the dog very well. Hector sometimes runs along with the bike and it just propels the bike forward and doesn't make me lose control. I like it a lot. I was waiting on my co-worker to make me a dog scootering rack thing that attaches to the bike and you harness the dog up to the rack, but he's taking forever and I'm like forget it lol. He will still make it for me one of these days.

So I just bought this today. Well, and also a bike... I think the first bike I've owned since I was probably 12!

There's actually a coupler accessory to run 2 dogs on the same bike tow leash. Got that, too! These dogs are not gonna know what hit them, lol.

Contrary to popular belief, riding a bike does get rusty with out use. Make sure you get comfortable on the bike before you hook up a dog or two! I couldn't believe how wobbly I was when I got on a bicycle after not riding one for years. And I rode motorcycles! :) Have fun!

Oh, I have a very healthy fear of the bike! We are hitting the trails for a short ride today and the tow leash won't even come till later this week. I'll ease Yogi into it first, he's pretty comfortable with learning new things. And Lillie might be too young for very long rides at all. She'll be a year on the 15th.

Oh my my my!!! Let me know how it goes!!! I think they will both be awesome if they are not crazy pullers/reactive. I do bike reactive dogs on it. A 40 lb rottie mix or a mini rottie lol and he tends to pick up speed when he sees dogs/people/cats and you do have to be able to control the dog by blocking with your leg or steer him with the leash or even just slow down or speed up. It's great fun, but a pain in the ass with reactive dogs lol.
