I have a 10.5 month old Cane Corso and as of yesterday he has been whining like he is in pain. He has let out this whine about 8 times since yesterday. He is not bloated, he is pooping, peeing, eating (although hunger since yesterday has been extremely high) and drinking.
I have squeezed all his paws, elbows, hips, stomach and nothing I do makes him flinch or make a sound. I have moved his joints all around and no issues. This obviously is not the same as putting weight on something. He is not limping.
The weather has been well below 0 F as of late but I cannot find any cuts on his pads or paws.
He first whined in the back seat of the car yesterday laying down not moving. He did it again at home standing but not moving. And a few times he has done it stepping off of the couch and seemed almost hesitant like something does hurt. I just can't figure out what.
Has anyone experienced this before? Could it be growing pains and a joint is hurting him?
Called the vet and they said just keep him on a leash at all times and do not let him run at all for a week and see how he is.
