My 6 month old cane corso (female) is 20.5" and 50lbs and i am wondering if she is small for her age. she seems to have grown quickly up until the 5 month mark and then it has slowed down. Thanks for any input I can post pictures if necessary

It can vary by dog/lines as to how fast they grow. They gain height until approx a year and can continue to fill out up to a 2-3 years. Genetically she will grow to what was predetermined so I would not stress it too much unless your vet says she is too skinny.

What Mary said!

Plus... 50lbs at 5 months from my mastiff growth chart would put your pup over 120lbs when full grown (at 3+ years old). Which would be a big CC!
My chart is for a wider EM, and every dog is a unique mix of Nature & Nurture, so your mileage may vary.

Hey DennasMom - do you have a copy of that chart you could post? I would be interested to see what my CC is up to height and weight wise? - cheers!

Sorry for bringing this old thread back up, but I would be interested in your chart, as well.

My girl is 11 months old and weighs 108 pounds. When she was 8 weeks she was 18 pounds. It looks about right for my girl, every dog is different though.

Lettie doesn‘t count. She‘s too big. No, just kidding. She looks awesome. I would agree that this chart is about right, but it will never be an exact since, as there are too many influencing factors (primarily genetics of course).

I finally sat down and wrote out Letties weight chart (I just had it written on my fridge calandar).

8 weeks- 18 pounds
12 weeks- 30
16 weeks- 50
20 weeks- 63
6 months- 71
7 months- 87
8 months- 93
9 months- 98
10 months- 101
11 months- 108

She will be a year old on April 29th so I don’t have the 12 month weight yet.

Big (beautiful) girl! Looking forward to seeing her "final" weight!

Lettie will be 12 months old in one week and she weighed in yesterday at 111 pounds so she is still gaining a few pounds every month.

We took Lettie to the vet today to get her weight. She is 13 months and 118 pounds.

The chart seems to be on point as long as you add any additional needed points and information. I have a question that perhaps someone out there can see if they have run into a situation that I have at the moment. I’m looking forward to begin my breeding program, my main foundation female is perhaps the largest female I’ve come across. She will be 2 yrs in March , 30 inches at shoulder withers and weighing in 135 - 140 lbs. My stud is 28 inches at the shoulder withers and weighs in 130 - 135 lbs. Has anyone seen or come across a female this size and this will be her first litter for later this year?

We do have a Corso breeder on the forum. Hopefully she responds to you. That's a big girl. What other attributes does she have that made you choose her as your foundation bitch? We like pictures around here, lol.
