So this is a new one for me. My daughter and I usually train Enzo each about 3 times a day for about 5 to 10 minutes each. He has been learning everything so fast. We both vary the order we do things. He had mastered sit, down, play dead, shake, around, back, and both heel and stay were advancing quite well. All commands learned by voice or hand signal.
Last night he lost his mind. We'd say sit and he'd immediately lay down and then play dead. Stay would have very much the same result. It was like he was trying to predict what we wanted him to do next, but like I said we always vary our order of things.
I'm hoping he was just having a bad night. Our plan is to step back, take a few days off training, and try and start back from the basics.
Have any of you experienced anything like this? How would you handle it? Literally yesterday the breeder and I were talking about possible obedience competitions because he was doing so well. Now I'm hoping to be able to teach him sit again.
