IMG_5165.JPG sorry I haven't been around or mia.... After recovery from surgery I had to play catch up at the office....still behind. Lol
Took Bella to the vets to be weighed she's 127 now....eating 4lbs raw food daily.

This is Bella's way she saves her spot on the couch....She's such a brat at times.

I've been taking her to the office more now. She's great company and she keeps the riffraff away too.
I'm so gratefully to have her in my life

What a great picture! She's looking good. I was wondering where you were and how you were doing. It's good to see you back. I hope you stick around.

Thank you Boxergirl, I’m here to stay!
I so love my Mastiff forum family.... I tell so many about this amazing group of people.
I would have to say this is one of my most valuable, and trusted assets in my arsenal for my fur babies. :)

Oh I also have Bella's appointment to get her hip certified coming up in Feb.
Have too do that and her "wellness" check up too. Hoping I've timed it correctly for just before she goes into heat

Sheila, it sounds like you're looking to breed Bella. Bella is an EM, yes? Please consider also having her elbows certified. Cystinura and PRA are also issues in the breed. Also a cardiac workup and complete thyroid panel. Not just having your vet listen to her heart, but a complete workup. Holter monitor to start maybe? I like to have thyroid evaluated by Jean Dodds at Hemopet. Just some suggestions. I know you want to do this the right way. I would also require these tests to have been done in any stud. I might consider doing the genetic test for degenerative myelopathy too. EMs aren't as prone to it as boxers and other breeds, but in a dog so large it's often cause for euthanasia simply because they are too large to manage for most of us.

Genetic issues have broken my heart too many times for me not to suggest these tests to any prospective breeder. Please don't be offended.

That "pose" of Bella is outstanding. We took Mr. Cheevers, our mastiff, to the vet recently. He was so afraid, he peed on the weight scale. After settling him down a bit, he got back on the scale with the help of treats and coaxing. He weighed 170 with one leg hanging off the scale. He's a big boy for sure, 4 years old this month. Happy New Year, all.Chev.jpg

He looks really tall in the picture. The weight seems to be ideal.

ABSOLUTELY!!

Oh you can bet your bottom dollar I want this done right.
My husbands cousin wanted his bull mastiff to sire with Bella....he's is a beautiful boy....and he has sired 3 litters.... Now I didn't want Bella to breed with anything that's not English Mastiff .....and about 6 months ago our cousins bull mastiff went blind in one eye in like 2 or 3 weeks....totally blind in the one eye.....I just kept on thinking that I was so glad that first Bella is an EM and not a BM, so our cousins understood I didn't want to mix her breeding line... also that what happens more so when you buy non papered dog....I just think it was very irresponsible to stud him out without the proper health history...and the proper testing

I'm taking Bella into the office with me more and more now that it's so dark at night when I leave the offic....so I've talked to the vet where I'm taking her to make arrangements to stop in a couple times a week on my way into the office to get Bella comfortable with the Animal clinic/hospital

I just seen the Vet today for a work up n Sunny....She's doing excellent I'm sooo very happy to report. I was very worried about Sunny being diabetic, since it was her Pancrease giving her all the trouble. Vet said she was very happily surprised. Sunny's organs are working well. Again vet was surprised....because Sunny stopped growing at 4 months old, she figured Sunny would be coming to the end of her life expectancy.... She told me right around 10 is when she sees dogs like Sunny end up with a lot of health issues and that their lucky if the dogs live another 2 years...... I guess we got lucky.
