The Lovefest Continues - A Boy and His Dog - Photo Update

Kaiden and Kahlua are officially BFFs. Kaiden is learning how to gently pet and Kahlua cuddles in close whenever she has a chance. She would lick him constantly as well if I allowed it but I am constantly scolding "no tongue".

As always I want to emphasize the dogs and baby (and the cats as well for that matter) are never left alone together. I am always right there with them. There has been nothing but love all around but babies and animals are unpredictable and I won't risk either hurting the other accidentally.

For those wondering Diesel also loves the baby but his preference is to love out of reach and occasionally check in to make sure the baby is still doing alright. It is rare that I can catch a good picture of Kaiden and Diesel together. Whereas Kahlua never wants to be parted from him so it is easy to get amazing pictures of the K&K duo.

Occasionally I also get some pictures of BrrBeary the cat with Kaiden as he occasionally likes to show up to hang out with the baby (or steal his toys) as well. I do have a photo somewhere of the cat trying to steal a toy that is permanently stuck to Kaiden's playmat.

Kaiden gently petting Kahlua in the below photo. He is getting really good at gentle pets. He has also transferred his dog petting skills to my breasts when he is ready for a meal. He smiles up at me and gently starts petting me... It is both adorable and also really weird (and no I won't share pictures of that).

Kahlua really loves having an extra human to shower her with love.

And Kaiden is equally enamored with Kahlua. Whenever he sees her he gets the biggest grin on his face. He really loves his dog.

Have you ever seen more love than these two have? It is a pretty special bond.

Sheltering in place isn't too bad when you have this sort of cuteness and love around you.

I call the photo below my "Please Join Our Cuddle Session Mommy" picture. And yes I did join the cuddles again after this photo.

And here are two non-dog related photos next. This was from yesterday. We had the first sunny warm day in awhile and played outside.

Mom and son playtime in his teepee.

Feeling the ground on his feet for the first time with daddy.

91789845_10158445631948678_7420207125177040896_n.jpg

And one last one that is proof that his mom is much more fun to swing with than dad is.

I do hope the rest of you are still finding joyful moments full of cuteness and love in the midst of all that is going on in the world. We are sending healthy thoughts and wishes for happiness to all of your families furry and otherwise. <3

Nik, those are marvelous pictures! Kaiden's personality shines through.

I saw that bond between my boxers and my own children as well as the babies I watched. Interestingly enough, Roy (he's almost 9 and doesn't know any babies) was absolutely terrified of my grandson when he visited. Terrified of a three month old baby. Ella couldn't seem to figure out what he was. I don't think she thought he was real. Lol.

It looks like you're all doing well. Please share as many pictures as you want. I love them.

lol How did Roy show he was terrified? Diesel seems scared of Kaiden sometimes but it actually seems to be more that he is afraid to hurt him so he doesn't want to stay sitting next to Kaiden or be left alone with Kaiden. He always checks on him and is protective but he gets very upset if I am not there holding Kaiden. He acts like a nanny but a nanny that doesn't want the responsibility of having the baby too close to him for long. If I try to put the baby next to him on the couch or bed for example he jumps up and moves. If I sit down with the baby in my arms he is totally cool with that and he will occasionally check on the baby and let me know when the baby is crying. But he absolutely will not let me set the baby down next to him.

That's interesting how Diesel acts, it does seem as if he is scared of him. I remember one time walking Zeela and a baby in stroller was passing by and she was absolutely terrified of the baby. Funny....maybe Diesel will change his behavior as time goes on.
If we could only read our dog's minds. :p

It's really funny though because if he thinks the baby is in danger. He is right there to make sure nothing happens to him. For example I was taking some pictures of Kaiden on our glider and Kaiden decided he wanted to flip over and try to scoot to the edge to see the dogs. Diesel who had been lying on the floor at the foot of the rocker instantly got up and put himself in front of the baby blocking him from falling. I was, of course, also right there. No way was I letting the little guy fall on his head. I actually have some pics. I have to dig them off my phone though. lol

No bones about it with Roy. He has no qualms about showing his feelings. He sat in a corner shaking, panting, and drooling. Mostly when the baby would get upset. Which was often, as he has his Auntie's temper.

Aw poor Roy. Diesel doesn't like when the baby cries either but he basically gets up and tries to get us to go to the baby. If we already are holding the baby then it doesn't phase him as much.

Thanks Zeela! I love how much they love each other. It is so adorable to watch the bond growing.

Kahlua thinks Kaiden is HER PUPPY! She is being a good Mommy...oh, she'll share her puppy with you, especially when diapers need changing.:p

Babies in carriages was one of Bailey's big interests. She used to try and put her head in to see the little human inside. I think she was quite amazed and I felt how protective she could be. Unfortunately there will never be any babies here. But last week when I took her out front for a pee, she was able to look at the neighbour's new baby through the picture window, and, she was quite interested and whined to me "I want it. I want to smell it." And looking at Dukie Dog next to baby, you could hear the thoughts. "Why does he get one. It isn't fair." And she whined again, stomped her feet and stared at me. She is so jealous. :D

The funny thing is when I am sitting with Kaiden in my lap she wants to be right up against me practically sharing my lap with him. The other day Sean was home and he sat next to me so we could cuddle a bit as I held the baby. Kahlua literally crawls over and behind him and throws herself half onto my lap and tried to push him away with her feet. She did not feel like he deserved the coveted spot cuddling with me and Kaiden. She felt like that was HER spot. How dare he take it. Sean did not move over for her and she was in this weird pretzel like position, half behind him, half on my lap trying her darndest to squeeze in so she could be cuddling the baby too.
