I just wanted to ask what Coat colour you prefer in Great Danes.
The poll got adjusted so that you can choose several options at once, so, if you like Fawn and Black best you can choose them both without problems.
My mother starts to sympathisize with molossers again after our Newf Chrissy (Our very first dog and her soul mate who died because of a ruptured cancerous ulcer in her liver or milt) and it seems like she prefers Danes over EM's since she met one in the park.
We have Corgis, so we know about the dangers in Merle colours, but it's colour appearing in Danes and so it needs a place in the poll.
Long story short: I'm the opinion that we need another molosser in the house, and when this molosser is a Dane, that's fine for me.
I want her to stay in the molosser direction and so I need to sprinkle pictures now and then to keep the thought going.
If you have pictures of your own Danes or Danes in your neighbourhood or Danes of Friends or Relatives, please post them with the name of the coat colour.
Thanks!:)

I like fawn and harlequin.
Merle looks cool, and when produced makes nice pets, but too many BYB's out there are breeding Merle to Merle unfortunately.
I will get a picture of my friends boy Levi, he is brindle, European lines and a monster. DD you will like this boy.
People fight with her all the time about him being crossed with an EM cause seeing a Dane that is a true German Mastiff is still rare.
I shocked her the first time I met her, she had him with her and I knew what he was lol.
I LOVE him!

Blue and Brindle for me ... I've always been a sucker for brindles even if I have to explain "what's it mean when they're all stripey like that?" to a lot of people. My shine for blue comes from meeting a breeder's stud a few years back. He had the conformation to match his status, and such an even, smooth gunmetal coat that I couldn't help staring.

I'm biased... I owned a harlequin girl a couple years ago! :) (She's my avatar picture.)

The way Dane genetics work is their categorized into "family" of color. Fawn, blues, and brindles all go together (and are easier to produce in the same litter) and same goes for harlequins, blacks, and mantles. Therefore I don't think it's a mistake my 3 favorites are harls, blacks, and mantles! (In that order.) In fact, the puppy I was supposed to get this summer was a black male.

Also, does anyone else see a resemblance to blue Danes to Weimaraners? I think it's purely the color that gives me that thought process...

i found this 1 breeder but they kinda scare me lol

Since on their front page they claim chocolates can be bred the same as a Dane, I will pick apart their Danes.

"Tex" - no body pictures, but the face is too narrow. My Dane mentor told me a Dane skull should look like a "brick on a brick".

The muzzle shouldn't get more narrow down at the nose. You can also see in comparison his jowls are incorrect as well.

"Harley" looks more like a Bloodhound than a Great Dane. Wrinkles are ONLY permitted on the forehead in expression. His lips hang down too far in the front. Lips should be just below the nose in an upside down "u" shape. This is not it.

I will stop there. The fact is her "stock" is horrendous and not a representative of the breed in any fashion. The ear sets alone make me cringe!

She claims we should treat chocolates as "equal" yet look at her prices page. Her "chocolates" she advertises for $500+ more than her other colors! She also doesn't pick pets/show dogs according to what are the standard, just on what they've paid.

For people like that they take our genuine reason then twist it around as a money making scheme.
