  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

Ronin

Ronin is the product of CH Phantom's Valvano x Vincenza. Valvano is son of GR CH Phantom's Leonitas, the first ever Best of Breed Cane Corso at the world famous Westminster Dog Show in 2011. Leo has been considered by many to be the finest example of the Cane Corso standard to date...including temperament. I can only hope that Ronin turns out to be just like him...especially in temperament. A lot of that is up to me, though.
My motive for getting Ronin is an interesting story. I will be moving to an area where there is a large black cat taking down 60-80lb Ram!(actually just found out those were really 110 pounders!) People have speculated that it could be a melanistic bobcat, but I have seen it on my FLIR cameras and it is MUCH bigger than any bobcat...it also has a long tail, which bobcats do not have. Others have said, maybe a panther, but the Florida Division of Wildlife insists that a black panther does not exist and that the rare and endangered Florida Panther has never had any cases of melanism...I personally believe it is a melanistic cougar or melanistic Florida Panther myself. Well, whatever it is, it is a large predator and I do NOT want my little pugs falling victim...hence the need for Ronin. Anyone with an idea of what this cat could be, please message me...and please don't say it's a Chupacabra...hahaha.
Experience: I have never owned a Mastiff breed but I have had a large male Rottweiler(Thor). I have about 20 years of experience in obedience training and 40 years experience with dogs in general. I was actually raised in a pack...LOL. I have had many breeds since early childhood ranging from a German Shepard, a Golden Retriever, Terriers, a Poodle, Boxers, a Rottweiler, mutts and of course my current pugs. My Rottie Thor was an AKC certified Companion Dog(CD) before the age of 18 months and my current pug, Tobi has earned 2 blue ribbons at training club trials. It is when I got Thor that I got serious about obedience training as I knew it was a huge responsibility to have a powerful breed of this type. I would be happy to help anyone with basic obedience training and would also appreciate learning new things as well...it is the reason I joined this forum. To both give a little knowledge to new dog owners and to also gain more and more knowledge with an open mind. Every dog is different and I can never stop learning about what makes my favorite of God's wonderful creatures tick.
Anyway, I plan on doing a lot with Ronin and will share his progress here at the forum. Thanks for having us and thanks for stopping in!
