CC Super shedder?

I adopted my first foster and he's supposed (I tend to take the histories/stories w/a grain of salt) to be a former stud from a NY breeder; passed on to a MN breeder and from there who knows? Results was turned himself into a shelter and was an 80 lb mess, 7 yrs old. Long story short-all better now, doing well, about 115 lbs, beautiful black brindle soft coat but dang, the boy can shed. I hesitate to use the term normal, but is shedding normal for a corso?

Thank you for the confirmation. I'm sorry-I meant to post this in the corso forum.

lol, Filas can shed a good amount too if they are in a place with real winters... I have a few ways to handle it though. 1st rule out any yeast related issues by giving him a bath with coal tar shampoo.. lather him up, let it sit for 5 mins and then repeat. check to see how his shedding is doing after a week or 2, If that doesnt work then it is just how he is. You can try to control it by giving him a bath with that furminator shampoo but first use mane and tail shampoo (its cheap and cleans them well) then after rinse use the furminator shampoo, leave it on him for at least 5 mins and then rinse off... that coal tar shampoo is the best thing I have seen.. even when you dont seem to think there is a yeast infection this thing lets you know that there was something up by its results. Dont get anything expensive use a generic CVS or walgreens brand as they work just as well (5% coal tar). hope that works for ya. I got this advice from some old school dogmen/women that dealt with bulldogs (APBTs) and it has worked like a charm.

I am gonna have to try this thanks for sharing. Mystic (em) is shedding horrible I use the kong zoom groom and the furminator shedding rake they work wonders. Here is the one I bought less than a 1/4 of the price at petsmart etc

I recommend the zoom groom for daily use its made from soft rubber and works amazing. The Furminator should only be used once a week or less.
