  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

Ever thought about your dog harming you?

Not in a an aggressive manner, but an accidental. Case in point I've been clocked in the head so many times with Stone I'm surprised I haven't cracked or broken a tooth. I do think about if he catches me "wrong" on the side of my head, ie temple, what would the out come be, lol. Mason is less "rough" but I still get those thoughts in my head. He LOVES to lay on my chest, as a (smaller) puppy, it was fine but as he's getting older and larger his weight puts extra strain on me. Napping together I sometimes I think about his body crushing or suffocating me.

I know such bad thoughts lol. They won't stop me from owning giant breeds but I wonder if any else has wild imaginations.

I got a black lip from Buddy lol. Multiple scratches from Hector and you really have to watch your knees. I don't think my dogs will intentionally bite me or attack me.

LOL of course I have....... I was a Tracy Sammie between M&M....... My worst nightmare was me walking them & they pulled my arms off...... Yerp have woken up with Lily on my chest, head in my neck & felt like I was suffocating, & it's hard to move a happy content sleeping EM....... LOL I'm ohhhhh so careful around their tails too, got a black eye from a whack across my face.... & never mind the head butt's or being lifted off the floor while I was cooking bacon for them with those huge heads...... But never afraid around them, always felt safe, loved hell protected.......

I've never thought that he could kill me but hurt me, yes! Kryten is very physical when he decides he wants to cuddle and it usually involves most of his 170 lbs on your chest as he shoves his face into yours. He did manage to severly sprain my ankle when he was only 4 months old when he tried to jump over my raised feet, it was the 3rd time I'd seen him jump ever, only his front feet made it. He has also managed to sprain my sister's finger bad enough that a week later she still can't use it to grip anything. It never surprises me when I get hurt by Kryten, its Jiggers that surprises me each time. I've got a very sore eye from where the point on Jiggers' head managed to get me last night.

LOL why is this soooooo funny to me....... Because we survived & as the saying goes Live & Learn..... I forgot about the time playing ball with two huge heads & they clipped me & my feet went up in the air & I landed on my back, but they came over & licked me till I belly laughed, that one hurt for a while.... Or landing on my ass after sliding across the kitchen floor in their "OMG WTF did you feed me poop"...... That one hurt too but still even then I laughed & survived.....

I, too, am waiting for the day when I crack a tooth or break my jaw on the top of Denna's head.

When I lean over to give her a kiss or see what it is she's playing with, or take something away from her... often her reaction is to bounce UP - I have to be careful my face isn't in the space her head is moving into, or WHACK! I nearly bit my tongue in two the first time she did that... I'm much more careful, now.

I'm always very careful to keep the knees bent when she's running around fritzing, too... especially at the dog park where other dogs are involved in the game of chase.

one of my front teeth is fake, all because of my crazy ass Dogo. I was bending down to put his leash on and he came up at the same time!! emergency visit on a Sunday to the tune of $1100!!!

trip to the er for a cracked foot and 3 broken toes after being stepped on and tripped by a Fila and Dogo! all I did was walk in the door after being out of town for 3 days.

er visit and stitches on my knees and arm. was standing on the top step of my porch and my 2 English Springers spotted a deer at the end of the drive. I never touched one of the 6 steps, but face planted on the concrete sidewalk.

3 months ago while rough housing with Maddie, I had to go to urgent care when she clamped and jerked my hand that was holding her toy. she tore ligaments and fractured my middle finger!!

I'm busting a gut laughing. Holy mackeral, I thought I had it bad, obviously I'm an amateur. Last May, I face planted into the roadway when the Doberman I was babysitting did a deek and dive to - I'm guessing, eat a little ankle biter - and propelled me, arm out like superman flying...bounced off my double D's and pearly whites. One front tooth turned backward into my mouth at a 45 degree angle. The other broke in half, add a few scrapes and minor abrasions...a day and a half off work, dental reconstruction (insurance - thank, God!)and a very sorry, very regretful, big suck Dobbie trying to lick his way to forgiveness. Thank God my CC has no prey drive, but I am a little worried about her social butterfly expressing itself at top speed as I'm dragged down the street to greet-and-meet EVERYONE!

All of my toes have been broken; I'm missing front teeth; busted nose; dislocated knee; both forearms & hands are heavily scarred, although some of that was from a cat attack - over 25 puncture wounds, ick. I've received these wounds over the years from many different dogs.
My friend's dane knocked her out, gave her a concussion once. He was "helping" her in the garden, when her husband called the dog. The dog whipped his big ole melon around & clipped her right on temple. She went down.

I forgot to add that while I'm positive these guys would never deliberately harm me, even in play, I sometimes am in awe of the power these guys possess, but choose never to use. I'll bend down to kiss Sunny on the top of the head, & think "He could take my whole face off if he wanted to." Instead he stands still, puts up with it, kind like "Aww Mom stop it!"

Sometimes I have felt that way. Especially since I have seen the aggressive side of Mateo (defending himself against an aggressive dog attack).
Their power is no joke... But it IS comforting to know that hurting me intentionally is just not possible. Ha- even when he does knock me down or cause me to get hurt, he is right there like an ER team, licking, checking me over...guarding me until all is right again.

Let's see. I have a few scars (after getting my hand involved in said fight); a dislocated knee; a swollen lip (bent down when he was lifting his huge head); some bruises and scrapes. But, he's young yet...

Minor bumps and bruises. Our family, even to this day worry that they will get a phone call telling them we were found half eaten by the Filas. Understandable I guess, since they can't even get close to them. LOL Cane is the most gentle dog that I have ever been around. It's the two little ones that might bite us.
