So, made a mistake and bought a "jacket" for Willow. Needless to say, she should have been with me to "try it on." Now it looks more like a too small superman cape hahahaa. Does anyone know how to make some sort of jacket or just something to keep her warm? I dont have a sewing machine and dont have much money to work with. Willow LOVES playing in the snow but I hate letting her out for longer then like 3-4 minutes cause I'm afraid of her getting cold and sick. Maybe its just me cause I dont like the cold lol :)

If you can hand sew, fleece (think "Polar fleece" though Polar is a brand) doesn't need hemming, and sewing on some velcro would potentially make a quick on and off.

Honestly though she's probly fine. Put some Mushers Secret on her feet and let her play!

I hate the cold too. :)

But Mystic loves the cold and the snow. Is she crying or shaking when she comes in? If she isn't I would say she is okay. I live in IL and with the cold and snow I literally have to make her come in after 15 mins or so.

She whines cause she wants to go back out lol. She's such a goober. She shovels with her nose and the eats the snow. She also runs full speed in circles and then bolts up the stairs and back down..crazy girl lol :)

that is Mystic to a T!!! Drives me crazy. lol

But she doesn't come in shaking or trembling so I just let her go and have fun. I swear she would live outside if I would let her. lol

Grab an old wool blanket and wrap the pup up in it then get a roll of duct tape and do what people do with duct tape.
If you cant fix it then Duck it!

Take an old sweater or hoodie and use that just cut the arms so that they fit her front paws. You can use safety pins to make it tighter around her.

My friend just wrapped a blanket around his Dane. LOL. YOu could use a belt for the middle section.
Sadly, that is her house coat. She hates the cold!

There's a lady that comes to Dane night with us that has two very large Danes that both have these orange reflective Jackets but I'm not sure where she got them.

I will ask tho.

Been putting Mushers Secret on Willow some. Its helped a bit. I havent really been able to use it as much as I would have liked. How often should I put it on her? It doesn't say on the container, just "as needed." Its softened her pads so I'm grateful for that as her pads were getting dry and cracked (no bleeding). I was laughed at for putting "lotion" on my dog. I said, "Well, I dont know about you but I certainly dont like dry cracked skin, why would a dog?"

Depends on your weather and the like. Apollo usually needs a new coat every couple days cause he starts getting snow-balls between his toes if I don't.
