Who carves pumpkins?

I want to see your pumpkin creations and Halloween decorations! Please don't make me be the only one posting again this year. I'll post pics of mine tomorrow. My packing tape ghosts aren't done, so just pumpkins this year. Don't be shy! Extreme, classic, creative - I love them all!

I guess that make would make me the Supreme Pumpkin Nerd. Especially considering my children are 24 and 21, so I don't carve for them AND I have dedicated power tools for carving AND the hardware store people know me as "the pumpkin lady." (Probably "that crazy pumpkin lady" when I'm gone.)

I love your pumpkins every year Boxergirl, they are so impressive!! I have zero creative abilities, so I am always so jealous when I see the cool things other people can do!!

Your pumpkins look awesome!

I haven't carved one in a couple of years but trust me you aren't missing out on anything. Mine always look like they were done by a five year old... and that is probably being unkind to five year olds to say so! lol

This year I was recovering from the flu on Halloween so decorating did not happen and our costumes are arriving late... However once costumes arrive (supposedly tomorrow) I will be taking costume photos... and I will for sure post them here (fingers crossed the costumes fit the pups).

Although last year we went to this amazing Festival of LIghts thing in San Diego where they had the most amazing amazing carved pumpkin display. If I can hunt down last year's photos I can share those with you. Far more impressive then anything I could ever hope to do. :-D

Holy moly! The horse one is my favorite! Is there a carving contest you can enter in?

Those are amazing! I'm like Nik when it comes to pumpkin carving, I think a 5 year old could do better than me. I just don't have the patience for the intricate work that those must take.

Okay I dug up the pumpkin photos from the festival I went to last year. It's all in the dark so you can see how they look all lit up only :)

THOSE ARE SO WONDERFUL!!!! Thank you for sharing them, Nik. I'm such a nerd.

Thanks to everyone for the compliments. I do the dog pumpkins every year and would be happy to share the templates if anyone wants to try. I think my favorites this year are the horse and the Hogwart's crest. The crest is one I've wanted to do for years but it requires a very large pumpkin. And I wasn't willing to put 24 hours of carving in and throw it away the next day, so I carved only artificial pumpkins this year. I'd take requests for next year..... I'm already thinking about it.

Hector - there's probably some contest in Chicago, but there are people out there so much better than I am. I just do it for myself. I like to watch all the kids faces when they come to the house.

I wish I could show you the scope of how large the pumpkin displays were. They were seriously massive. There is one that I think we have a photo of on the real camera that was a Chinese New Year Dragon... It was about the size of a semi truck... maybe even bigger.
