My 2 1/2 yr old pup Aries just started having accidents all the time all over the house with in the past week to 2 weeks.
Even after I take him outside with in minutes of coming in the house. And when he's out he pees three times sometimes more.
Any ideas of what could be causing it?
I cant get him in the vet till monday evening.
So mom looking for anything to help him till I can have him checked for a UTI.

I also was thinking of a UYI. Especially since this quickly began and his excessive urination. Poor baby. Please, keep us posted.
May i ask, has he mated, whether purposely or accidental recently or recent past?

Poor kid.
Have you noticed any blood in the urine? At times it's difficult to spot, but if you grab a tissue and wipe him off right after he's peed, it should give you an indication if there is blood in the urine.

If it is Urinary Tract Infection, you will need antibiotics.

You already had some advice about cranberry supplements. This will not clear it up, but maybe make him a bit more comfortable untill you can get him to the Vet. Let him drink lots and let him pee, just to try and flush some of it out.

If you can get a pee sample before you go to the Vet, it may save you sme time and money, just make sure it's in a clean container.

It is a pain in the neck to have him peeing everywhere, but don't get upset with him, he can't help it, and he may be in some discomfort as well. Just place newspaper or puppy pads all around the area where he spends a lot of his time, and offer comfort and affecton.

Good luck, and keep us updated.

do you have any antibiotics at your house, if your comfortable with it , any of these may help until you get him to the vet (amoxicillin , cephalexin , Bactrim , or augmentin ) ? if you have one of those i'm sure someone could tell you the dose , i could ....... you should probably keep some antibiotics in your house if it's hard to get to the vet , ask your vet about it ........jmo

I had a running prescription for Cephalexin for my Leo. He had recurring UTIs and they went from mild to bloody very quickly. I was able to keep antibiotics on hand after he started peeing blood on Xmas and we had to go to the emergency clinic. Can you put a call in to your vet and see if they can do anything for you? Nothing like cranberry, etc is really going to fix this before Monday, but the d-mannose is something I keep on hand for human UTIs and I swear by it when used before it's a full blown infection.

Well he was taken to the vet . the doctor said its a bladder infection with possible stones. Because he's a male they typically don't get infections and after 2 xrays and blood work it showed he has a high white blood cell count which means infection. So he's antibiotics for 2 wks and maybe a new food special food to dissolve the stones if it doesn't clear up in 2wks. But yes still at times peeing a little blood but nothing like he was and he's peeing more too. So thats all going in the right direction. So my fingers are crossed that my baby will be ok.

I'm glad to hear that your boy is on the mend.

Poor little guy.....from a person who has metabolic stone disease , I can truly sympathize with what he's been going through.

I hope they find a treatment to dissolve these stones. I know there are meds for people, so hopefully there are some for dogs as well.

As for having some blood in the urine, that's probably happening when h's trying to pass a stone, and the stone is irritating everything inside. Did the Vet recommend some anti-inflammatory meds to help with that? People med that helps with that, is called Ketorolac, maybe ask the Vet, if there is a canine equivalent (?)

Good luck.

Usually vets administer an anti inflammatory shot, along with the antibiotics.

So far the antibiotic is working. He's on another week of it. I will drop off a urine to the doc next Wednesday for a test and if it comes back clear has good. If it doesn't than more antibiotics and maybe special food for a while than another recheck

No inflammatory shot just meds. And possible food to dissolve the stones but since he seems to be ok. No blood -they are wondering if he might have passed them but he said a recheck of the urine would help but wait till next week unless I see a change
