Yes I just spoke to another breeder and she said she's had 2. One hasn't been bred yet and the other was 2 years past her Last litter. So yeah I get it now. The one who wasn't bred yet finally took but aborted the litter. She will try once more to breed her and if not, she will spay her.

I have a breeder friend who lost her girl the heat after she had a litter. If I recall correctly, the bitch was four years old. Spay or don't spay. That's a personal decision. I just want everyone to be aware of the symptoms so that if it happens, the dog has the best chance of survival. As I believe that the average dog owner shouldn't be breeding their dogs just because, I encourage spaying after maturity. I honestly think it's safest for the girls.

I fixed all mine and I really didn't see any temperament change or any change whatsoever, and the surgery itself wasn't big deal for them, it was more stressful for me. They've been themselves as they come home same day, no cones or anything...

for me altering a dog is not natural and without any side effects, if you ask the dog she surely would prefer not to be spayed , its just a question of two schools of thinking. of all the people i know with intact females i dont know anybody who had a pyo case. however all of them were bred. holistic vets do not encourage spaying and neutering..example the famous dr Becker. anyway its a long subject that will cause a very heated debate so i prefer to avoid that :) spay or not spay the important is the well being of my dogs

yeah I get what you're saying. I wouldn't have fixed mine if it wasn't so stressful for them to be around each other every 3 months.
I didn't want to send them away for weeks either, and poor Jack didn't eat, drink, sleep and had to be heavily sedated and even so he was crying non stop. Luna was howling like a wolf for weeks and she was unstoppable. Sophia had severe depression and fake pregnancies. So I preferred not to have them stressed out so often: their temperaments didn't change a bit.
