The hold trick makes for some cute photos, but then I tested to see if he would carry a grocery bag full of cow ears and he did for quite a distance and then dropped it when I said go home lol. Yay Hector.

Hmm..I really have no clue because it really is something he doesn't enjoy so it took a long time. I will say it took over a year and we are still working on it. He won't hold for long unless I'm 2 feet from him especially if it's a non food item. Food items, he doesn't have a problem holding lol.

Walking with me while carrying something is completely new and I had a feeling he would do it because he knew the chews were in there. I'm sure if you think outside the box, you will figure something out. Every dog is different and it might work out easier for you than we are thinking, but the first step is to get them to hold an object that they enjoy/motivated by (a big one to start with).
