Not such a great update for Junior

Well hello, Mastiff Forum, long time no chat!
Wish I showed up with better tidings, but... Junior's got the ick.
Lymphoma to be specific. He' went through his first dose of chemo yesterday, and the lymph nodes have shrunk a great deal, so that's the good part. The bad part is the oncologist said this is a 28 week course of chemo... And... it's not cheap. But they said Junior is a great candidate for the treatment, outside of the cancer, he's really healthy.
If anyone would like to help, I set up a Gofund me since money is on the really tight side of things right now... I hate asking, but I have to do what I have to do for my boy. gofundme.com/3ecoe0o

Hope everyone here, old and new, is having a much better go at things!

Oh, no, AK, I'm sorry. I hope the treatments work out for him.

I had a go with one of my dogs with T-cell lymphoma and chemo many years ago.

AK, I'm so sorry. Keep strong...help, I'm sure, is on the way.

Come on folks! Let's move a mountain. Many of you helped my daughter when she fell on hard times with her dogs. MASTIFF PEOPLE HAVE GIANT HEARTS AS BIG AS THEIR DOGS.

Hey, AK, I'd rather send my small offering by international E-transfer or Western Union, will you please let me know what works for you and provide address and email in P.M. I'm going to bank today and I see they have international E-transfers set up. The last time I sent money to help a member, I used my PayPal account, but I haven't used it since last year and it will be such a hassle, and it took over a week for him to get the money! I'd like to try the E-transfer, it will smooth out any future donations. My daughter used the other platform and it wasn't as good for her.

He's feeling great after his first round of Chemo and the steroids they put him on. Eating just fine and peeing like a racehorse. :)

Thank you all for the well wishes!

AK, that international E-transfer is too complicated. I'll send it by Western Union. Give your boy a big hug from me and Bailey.

Hi, I was just wondering if you tapped into the agencies that provide financial help to pets in US for cancer treatment? I know my daughter was able to get help from Farley Foundation for medical care not covered by her insurance...I don't know if they are in the States, too. Just Google financial help for dogs with cancer and several pop up.

I remember that several members sent me info when my grand-puppy Bella ripped out her second leg, and she did get help with the surgery costs, and help from me for the rest. There are conditions, but, I think a lot of people need this kind of help now. I hope this helps.

Please let me know when my donation arrives. I'll send more when I can.

I didn't mean to miss these last comments! But I guess I did.
Thank you guys... It's been ups and downs. Ups due to his nodes shrinking, downs due to having to take him off his daily aspirin. Who knew that stuff would help so much with a bunk hip?... Tonight has been a little rough with the hip.

I can't mix the aspirin with the steroids he's on. The steroids I was told would have NO problem keeping the hip at bay... Welllll.... Not so much. Need to call the vet tomorrow to figure something else out. *SIGH!!*

As much as this has been a rewarding (If I can call it that...) experience, it's also been incredibly frustrating. I just have to keep gauging him and do the best I can for him.

Hi AK, just wondering if my letter arrived yet...snail mail being just that slow. Hope you did and that it helped. Give a big hug to your boy from Bailey and me.

Oh, any luck with the cancer aid groups for dogs? I hope you qualify. A ray of light is overdue.
