GREAT NEWS!

We just found out today that we have been accepted by Potrero Cane Corso to have a future fur baby out of their line! We are so so excited and wanted to share the news with our Corso family on here! We are not ready to bring him home yet so we still have a lot of waiting to do however it was just nice to know that we've been accepted! Any tips and advice will be much appreciated!

Hey, Congrats! Me and you both ;).

When you say we are not ready to bring him home, do you mean that you have things to get/learn, or just that you have a bit of a wait before you can bring him into your home? Do you already have any other dogs/pets in your home?
Do you have any plans for your pup, or are you just looking to bring a companion into the family? Are you getting a male or female, and have you decided on a name yet?! :p

I myself, have been doing a LOT of research/studying on raising a working dog. I can raise a pet/companion and teach them sit/stay/down, but the working dog aspect is somewhat new to me, and I am finding it Very Interesting! There are a lot of subtleties and generally different ways of interacting with your puppy that can be looked at in a greater-technical level. Lots of reading, and Michael Ellis and Leerburg videos are quite helpful as well :p. Also, I've been calling and inquiring with clubs that practice in IPO that could help me down the road.

The best tip I can give you would probably be to train Well, and train Early.... because these guys get BIG! haha =D.

Thank you for that! We have to wait a bit as well as want to learn more before we bring our puppy home. In the meantime we've been reading and researching. I'm on here everyday just reading and learning from everyones experiences. I can't wait for when it's our turn. We are looking to bring a companion in the family but also plan on doing some agility and obedience training. We've been going to agility competitions and are really interested in that so we've been educating ourselves on finding the right trainer and such to get us going. We are looking to get a male and then EVENTUALLY a female.

My husband and I are still on the hunt for a good strong name for a boy. We will take any and all suggestions. Right now we like Scar, Klaus, Cato, King. If you have anymore to add please don't hesitate :)
