Seems like a pretty specific mix to be looking for others with the same thing...

Which breed traits are you seeing dominant?

I would think they all have good protection/guard dog tendencies. I'd approach training him as I would any other independent guardian breed... positive motivations, high value treats, no physical punishments.

Those are all smart breeds - i.e. they'll know what you're thinking before you do, so think good thoughts to get good reactions! :)

My puppy mantra: You get out of the dog what you put into the puppy.
So, I try to put in generosity, love, understanding, loyalty and praise, all within a framework of consistent, fair rules.

Do you have any pictures you could share??
Puppy pictures are ALWAYS welcome here!!

Happy New Year!

They cropped the ears on a mixed puppy? Hmmm interesting. Cute puppy. An hour is a long time for a puppy to focus, it is a long time for my adults to have to focus, so perhaps shorter sessions more often for training to keep it fun and light hearted.

There are days when I feel like an hour is a long time for me to focus. :) But yes exactly a long time to expect focus from a puppy.

Interesting mix. Can't wait to see more photos and hear more stories. Both my pups are mixes.

- DDB/Staffordshire/Boxer

- Cane Corso/Boxer/American Bulldog/Olde bull dogge

The DDB/Staffie/Boxer (Diesel) is super guardian personality and ridiculously smart and acts like a scent hound. He can sniff out anything.

The CC/Boxer/am bulldog/oldbulldogge (Kahlua) is less guard dog but also more aggressive and very much a clown. She's smart but no where near as smart as Diesel.

It's always interesting to see how the traits play out and how their personalities develop.

Great looking dog. I have a Dog de Bordeaux/American Bulldog mix. Why did it have a splint on? I know our dog use to strain her legs doing sprints back & forth during her first year. She must have grown out of it because she has not had that problem lately.
