Cage problems recommendation

Made it a third time in the cage for 3 hours, no problems. What is happening now is when she is outside of the cage and has access to that room she goes in and starts to chew off the zip ties. Luckily I bought a huge bag of them and some of them she is chewing are not actually breaking off but just trimming the ends.

Making excellent strides with her lately, I think the worst is over. I have also realized this week as she has been out a lot around people and she only barks at kids that torment or make sudden moves or move around her slowly as if they are scared. I had to yell at the maintence guy for tormenting her trying to get her roweled up on purpose, making quick moves and trying to get her to freak. All I need is some idiot tormenting a dog that has trust issues to begin with.

Otherwise she has been 100% better and I'm feeling relieved she is growing out of that nonsense. Still loaded with energy, you can just see the angelic look in her eyes. lol

I have to put two padlocks on Axel's crate. One on the top, and one on the bottom. He has chewed zip ties and broken the clips. The padlocks...it's the one thing he can't break! I'm definitely going to check out that book that Boxergirl recommended. I'd love to leave my dogs out of their crates, but Axel is super destructive and suffers from severe separation anxiety.

Yes Leerburg is the best when it comes to these type of dogs. I used to sit and listen to his podcasts for hours, one of the first things I learned from Leerburg was to keep high drive dogs on leash in the house at all times. I know much easier said than done trying to cook with a hyper dog on a leash next to you. I purchased an awesome K9 leash for her (k9tacticalgear) that has a clip to clip on a belt or something which is great for outside focus heeling and keeping her close while in the house, it also has a second loop for tight heeling outdoors with traffic around. Now that she is pretty much potty trained, I don't need to keep her on leash inside anymore while I'm around. But for all of those people wanting to potty train these dogs, that is the way to go.

I will consider the padlocks and I agree, there would be no possible way to allow her free roaming the house at this time with no supervision. Not to mention I don't want to be the family on the block with the annoying barking dog sitting at the door, the crate allows me to keep her away from being heard barking.
