Weight Concern

hey everyone!
My CC pup is now 17 weeks old and weighs around 50lbs - all his siblings from the litter are already 60+ lbs so I’m a little concern if we are feeding him enough.
He eats raw meat only (I know a lot of people are against this, but it is the path we have chosen and one that the breeder recommended - so please don’t give me crap about that) we feed him about 1lb of raw for breakfast and 1lb at lunch and than again 1lb at dinner. We are thinking of starting to only feed him breakfast and dinner because he has started to not finish all this lunch so we think it may be a sign that he is full/satisfied!

Anyway, any tips on if his weight seems good or not would be great and maybe any tips on how we should feed him (more or less times and more or less amount)

Thank you!

Be happy about it, nothing wrong with a smaller Corso. We chose the smaller of the 2 females in the litter as we wanted a more drivy dog and hopefully one that lives longer. Now we have a bad ass Cane Corso (almost too bad ass) that moves like a Belgium malinois.

With that said, some grow faster than others. Our Bordeaux didn't fully fill out until way over 1 year. The vet says its better on the joints also.

I agree - you got the dog you got... genes will dictate how big he grows. Feeding raw (which a lot of us here on the forum do, me included) is GREAT for a nice SLOW growing puppy. Your pup might grow slower than his siblings, and he might not get as big as all of them... but I'm going to guess he'll be healthier for it.

If he's already self-regulating on raw, I'm envious! My EM will eat any given amount... so we have to watch her weight for her. I think we quit "lunch" around to the 6 month mark... but... every dog is unique.

BTW - there's a whole sub-forum about raw diets under the nutrition category here on the forum... :)

Your pup looks healthy. Nothing wrong with a smaller Corso. My female is on the small side, 95 pounds at her heaviest.
