These are great! What's really apparent to me is that she has an excellent focus on you when you're working with her and a great willingness to please you. I think you can train her to do anything you want. If, say, you wanted her to perform a task.

Haha thanks! I saw the video your daughter posted with her shaking/bouncing her leg, and Otis applying pressure. That really made me think, I’m considering doing something like that with Lettie. I also bounce my leg and pick at/fidget with my fingers when I’m stressed. And the trainer did give us homework, one of our assignments is to teach Lettie a new command.....

I think Lettie would be good for that type of work. Do it! Otis is now doing pressure therapy on his own. He's also blocking her in stores now. I think there might be videos of him "checking" her leg. It's funny, she and I have many of the same anxiety behaviors and he will perform his tasks for me too, unasked.

Thanks for sharing those. Lettie has such a great personality. Even the bad Lettie was like she was trying to tell you all about her bad day, and why she just had to stay on your bed. Lol! Great job with her training. I really like the bell idea.

Thank you all! The bell training was very easy. We just hung the bells up and told her “ring the bell” with a little help at first. She learned pretty quickly that when she rings the bell that door opens and she gets to go outside. We decided to do the bells because she is very quiet, she would just stand by the door if she wanted to go out. Someone else on here suggested that we make sure to not teach her to use her feet to ring the bell, only her nose. We don’t want to encourage her to go around pawing at things :D

Ha! You're a lot smarter than I was. My dogs are bell trained, but I just used the boxers instinctual pawing to teach the bell. Bad idea. My doors and the door frame are clawed up. My next dogs will be taught to use only their nose. (Ella can't seem to hit the bell. She rings the air around it. We don't tell her she's doing it wrong.)

Haha poor Ella, we will just pretend we hear the bells! Lettie sometimes misses the bells but we ignor her until she hits them. With Lettie, I think she is just seeing what she can get away with.

Poor Ella indeed. I call her my T-Rex dog. Big head. Little brain. Very, very big heart though and that's what really counts.
