12 mo old male beowulf mastiff

My mastiff just turned 1 this week. He weighs 141. Is he small? Vet says weight is just right. I was expecting him to be bigger at this point. Anyone have any feedback? Much thanks

141 doesn't sound small at all for one year. Especially considering mastiffs about two years to fully mature...

He looks fine but I saw growth charts online that said 170-185 by this age.

Growth charts are highly unreliable, they assume steady growth and don't allow for variation within a breed. I wouldn't worry, your boy's got alot of growing time left.

Depends on the lineage of your dog. Some mastiffs have slower growing lines, others grow a lot faster. I wouldn't worry about it. You've got a Beowulf mastiff, so I know its definitely well bred. He'll catch up in size, it may just take some more time. These dogs can grow until they are 3 years old, so he still has plenty of growth left.

Hi we also have a Beowulf mastiff, He is now a little over 7 months and 102lbs, looks great and still growing at a good rate..... We also looked at all the different online growth charts and you have to look at it the same way as you look at children growing no 2 are the same.... Good Luck..........
