13 week old English Mastiff puppy soap in eyes

I gave Starbuck a bath yesterday using a gentle dog shampoo. Today her eyes are red and hhave discharge almost like human pink eye. I think I must have gotten soap in her eyes or something. They look awful, does anyone have any suggestion? Thanks so muc,

Are you sure it's just soap in eyes? Is there any protrusion from inside the eye? Is she uncomfortable, trying to rub her face?

Is there a picture you can post?

Get some human 'thera-tears' - just saline eye drops and flush them a few times... if it's not better quick, call the vet.
Over-night does seem like a long time for soap to be a problem...

Thanks for the replies. When you guys bathe your doggies, do you wash their face? I know I don't have to do it often, and I think it was my mistake (Starbuck is my first dog!). I used a mild oatmeal dog shampoo and lathered up to her head and cheeks, then I poured water over her head to rinse her off, and she kept her eyes open. That's why I thought it was the soap that irritated her. There is nothing I can see in her eyes but she isn't trying to rub or scratch them either.

I've been rinsing her eye area with lukewarm water to keep them clean, and dropped some saline in her eyes today. It seems like it's getting better. I also did phone the vet today and they said to keep doing what I'm doing and that it probably is just an irritant from the shampoo. Hopefully it clears up quick! I don't have a picture right now though.
Thanks again!

If my shampoo got in my eye, it would hurt for at least a day. Damn head and shoulders don't mess around. No I don't wash his head or face to avoid getting stuff in the eyes. If you want to wash the face, then use a rag with the soapy and wipe their face and then pour water down the back of the head with their head tilted up and back if that makes sense.

Thanks again guys. For anyone who's wondering, This did clear up on its own. It was about 3 full days of cleaning her eyes 3 or 4 times a day with a very wet cloth, and about 2 days of saline drops. Now back to normal, no vet visit.
