15 wk English mastiff has stinky gas!

I have a 15 week old English mastiff. Love her to death but I seriously can't stand her gas! It's terrible! I had my husband stop feeding her table scraps (didn't want him to anyways...) to see if that was it. Nope. Her food doesn't have soy in it but was going to try and change that to see if it helped. Any thoughts? We have a cane corso that is 8 mos old and she eats the same food and got the same scraps. No gas for her. Do English mastiffs have these problems more than other mastiffs?

Generally, most mastiffs have bad gas regardless of what you feed them. Some foods tend to make the gas worse. What kind of food do you feed them? What flavor? What kind of table scraps?

My Cane Corso used to have bad gas and I thought it was just the usual for Mastiffs, but when i switched her Kibble from Merrick to Canidae because of chronic loose stool and the reset. Her gas as all but vanish. But ocassionally she will be sitting up looking at the door and let one go. Lol. She just looks back at me like did you hear that and I would say. Yes I heard it now stay over there by the door..

If it was the table scraps, it can take a few days to 'dissipate'....

Definitely check the food, she may be sensitive to some of the ingredients.
We've adopted many a bad-gasser, and have been very successful in curing 90+% of it with food and supplements.

You can try adding some probiotics and yucca schidigera (herbal supplement). The probiotics will help her digest the gas-maker foods better, the yucca will bind nitrogen (ammonia) and help pass it in liquid or solid form vs gas. :)

I found adding probiotics and digestive enzymes to Kryten's food took him from frequent toxic level emissions to just the occasional much more tolerable ones.

Thanks! We have stopped the scraps and switched foods. We are trying nutro natural choice young adult large breed. If that doesn't help it I will think about getting some probiotics and digestive enzymes. Where do I find those? Prescription or over the counter?

Murphy was a loud gas blaster, and stunk so bad he would clear the room lmao
He didn't get table scraps at all and was grain/chicken free. I will NEVER forget it. It was so bad he made grown men cry
Linc lets out an occasional one here and there. But from what I know googers and gas is one of the many things you learn to love abouy mastiffs. Kinda like having a baby all the time lol

Mastiffs have gas? LOL But seriously. None of my 4 dogs pass much gas at all and especially almost none from the Boerboels. They do not eat plant matter or grains, excepting the once a week treat of Mac n Cheese. Jade's breeder has told me her littermates and parents are very flatulent but she feeds kibble with grains and other plant matter including carrots. They also have access to horse manure. Jade and Odi both will get at those pasture patties and when they are able to sneak a few bites in they will get very gassy for that day and the next. Remove all plant matter and grain for 2 weeks and see what happens.

We switched her food and stopped feeding her table "treats" for the most part. My husband sneaks her some though and we notice some gas. I think if he would stop doing that (he won't) we would be gas free! We feed them natural choice large breed adult food

Which canidae did you switch to? We are on a seemingly endless loop of trying to get her to a good food and switched to canidae pure sea. When I emailed the company found out way to much calcium of 2.2% and phos. Of 1.2%. Merrick is the same with to much calcium. Even in their large breed food. Will say much better with the gas on this food though, and we were told to avoid red meat if her gas was bad....
