Hi all,

Looking for some feedback to pin point how we could do better for our 3 months old puppy.

Puppy is doing good with basic training such as sit & stay, down & stay, stand & stay and no pulling on leash (if he would walk), come, fetch.

Situation 1 - Does not like the crate
Our method - We are feeding him inside the crate

Situation 2 - Does not eat much or impatient
Our method - Removing the food after about 30 mins

Situation 3 - Eat only when hand fed
Our method - No solution yet*

Situation 4 - Do not like walking and puppy would just sit/lay
Our method - Use treats to activate the puppy but only work after a bunch

Situation 5 - Puppy nipping
Our method - Scream OUCH and ignore which resulted in barking at me/ Firm NO/ Finger in the throat to make it uncomfortable. Does not work after 10 mins

Thank you all!

Whew, pretty regimented!
(assuming that's a fixed schedule, which I'm guessing that's more of an average - at least I hope so :) )

Sounds like you're on the right track to me.

Although, I'm curious how you're hand feeding while in the crate?

The 'not walking on a leash without LOTS of treats' will fix itself in time. Young puppies are very often home-bodies. Keep walks short and fun, and one day the puppy will just take off and want to GO... then you'll have to work on the opposite issue (leash pulling). :)

For puppy nipping - keep up with "Ouch" or "Yipe" and also redirect him to chew on a toy, and then make the toy VERY exciting. It sounds like he REALLY wants your attention, and if you can make your attention a good thing when he's nipping on a toy (and not you), that will make it easier for him to not want your unhappy attention. It will take many, many repetitions... but eventually, you should be able to ask the puppy to "go get a toy" as soon as you see him eyeing your fingers (as if to nip) - and he'll run and grab something for you to play a little tug with.

puppy nipping: our puppy was very excited by screams but we just left the room and ignored him. He is not doing it any more.

Thanks Theodora, seems like he is responding to this method now. However, we did not leave the room. We will be patient.

I can't offer anything as far as crate training goes as I don't use them. I am not sure what #2 is saying exactly. If the pup is impatient use it as an opportunity to teach "wait" and celebrating when he does sit and wait. Often, young puppies aren't fans of walks so that will work itself out with a little age and continuing to treat. Both of my boys got more excited with the "ouch" think so I would redirect and turn away until the nipping stopped. Consistency will get you there although it does seem like it takes forever because of those sharp little teeth. :)

Thanks for the input. #2 basically means that he does not eat OR he will get some bites and run out to play. Right now, we removed his toys when we feed him. It is becoming better.

We had to actually leash Titan and attach his leash to a closed door on the knob. His attention span was just too short at that age and we'd leave him there for maybe 30 minutes and he eventually just started eating fine on his own.

As for the walks, our boy just seemed too tired for them lol he always dragged behind us and looked like he wanted to take a nap. He grew out of that, too.

With the crate, have you tried throwing treats in there every once in a while? Just leave a treat in there randomly so he will start wanting to go in there to check for treats. He should eventually see the crate in a positive way. We did that with ours and now he sleeps in there on his own no matter what time of day.

We did exactly the same except attaching the leash. He does fine now after about 1 month. Thank you for all the suggestions.
