6 Month Old Goof Ball

Titus is finally 6 months old as of 6-29-2013 and weighs 102 lbs. and 27 inches. I would have posted sooner but work has me working 12 long hours a day plus weekends right now! He is such a big goof ball. Doesn't like water except the gallons he drinks! Haha! Such a big cuddler. He mouths a lot. But I don't mind. He finally got rid of all his puppy teeth. Yay! Absolutely worst part of having a puppy. He hates when u grab his collar to try to pull him anywhere u want him to go. He will throw himself down and paw u like a kid throwing himself down and telling u he isn't doing it, sooo funny. He also loves to walk in between my legs to get on the other side of me or his nose is always in my butt! Hahaha! :lolbangtable: he is a brat at times but sooo lovable and gentle.
But we did get scared July 4th. When we got up I noticed his stomach was really bloated and he looked like he was in pain when he walked. He would drink a Lil but wouldn't eat. I gave his stomach a Lil thump just to c if it was hallow sounding and it was. Luckily from reading lots and lots of information about mastiffs and reading this forum and listening to all u great dog owners, I knew pretty much right away what it was and he had bloat. I called the vet, a different one since mine was closed due to it being 4th of July, we took him out right after we got off the phone. Although his stomach was half turned, the vet was able to get the gases, food and excess water off his stomach and no surgery for him. His stomach corrected itself once the vet took care of getting everything off of it. We got very very lucky. Now in a few weeks he is going in for a preventative surgery called gastropexy.
Ok now onto the pics.

I just want to say I am glad that I have somewhere where I can talk about my dogs and people don't think I'm crazy! Lol!

Glad to hear that you caught it quickly and he recovered without surgery. I cannot believe he bloated so young. That is scary.

He is very handsome!

Thanks guys! It was so scary! Iymala I thought the same thing about him being to young. But I think I know what happened. We were gonna take them for a walk one day and I never feed them right before. Well we took them walking and they hadn't ate dinner yet so right after we got back I fed them. Dummy me! Well when I took him to the vet she said not an hour before or after exercise. So we will definetly stick to that!

This sounds VERY familiar!
Denna has an extremely strong "opposition reflex" - if you pull one way, she'll pull harder the other... no matter if you're pulling her to something she wants or not. Let go... ask nicely... and THEN she'll go. :)

It's a good thing they r sooo stinking cute because he is sooo frustrating at times. Lol! Sometimes I have to sit there and until he decides ok now I say it's time to go. Which is only a minute usually but I just look like really! Lol. He is also the best nap waker I have ever seen. Now that I'm working 12 hrs a day he will lay in the floor and doze off and about 20 minutes later I feel something in my face and out of reaction I push it away a few times and it never budges, so I open my eyes finally waking up and c it's him. He is telling me ok now it's time for a pet! Haha!

Scary! Glad He is okay. Titus is too cute!
Thank u! I am too! It was one of the most scariest moments. But I do think we found a new vet out of all of this.

Thanks NeSaxena. It really did scare the $h!t out of me. It also made me mad at myself also cause I feel like I should have gotten the surgery. I told Jason how could I b so stupid. But i also guess didnt think it would happen so young. So in a few weeks he will b getting the pec surgery. I know I keep meaning to update my avatar but its so hard right now to get him to take a good pic. Plus i think the new one should b of him holding me! Lol! I like ur new one of Boone. He looks sophisticated.
