So its been a while since I have posted here! Sorry, been busy had a friend in need and focused a lot of time on her. Things are calm once again so I wanted to post an update on Tank and get some advice.

Tank is 6 months old today. Hes 90 pounds. I have had a few people tell me hes growing to fast (height) . Hes been on Earthborn Holistic meadow feast since hes been 3 months old. Not sure what to do now. I may look into changing his food once again. His poop is still soft so guessing it wasn't a chicken allergy which is why we switched to earthborn in the first place. So from what some have said I should try finding a food that's lower in protein, around 19%. Easier said than done for sure.

Leash training completely sucks with him. He makes progress and then like regresses. I can walk him around our yard pretty well, but when I take him out front he flips out. Like im trying to kill him. Ends up being a big scene in the street with him flipping out and then choking himself and everything. I dont understand why he does this. Hes so good with commands. He knows sit, down, paw, speak and we are learning stay.

So anyways, heres some updated pics.

as far as growth is concerned , i dont think you have any problem and i dont think you should lower protein , your dog is beautiful lean and fit , he is growing so what? poop can be soft for puppies no problem if it is not watery and bloody.
dogs at this age can be very very stubborn when walking on leash, sometimes they just lay down and do not want to move, or go the other direction, ..you just have to be patient and firm do not allow im to win but do it firmly with no violence and stay calm do not show your frustration and anger. try to take him for walks in new but calm areas where there are no poople, or dogs, let him get used to walk on eash in different areas.

Some people have experienced continued soft poops on Earthborn, not because it's a bad food but some dogs have that issue. Try Acana Regionals, Wellness Core, Taste of the Wild grain free or Fromm's. With Fromm's, same issue, some dogs have soft poops.

Re: leash training. Have him wear the leash in the house to get used to it. When you get outside, place treats on the ground to have him follow you with the leash on and give him positive reinforcement. Once he's following you with no problems, then move onto have him walk beside you. You treats by placing them by the side of your leg and reward when he stays beside you.

Consistency in training with positive reinforcement and motivational rewards, LOTS of patience and do not allow the pup to feel your frustration because that will cause him to shut down.

Tank looks healthy and fit. Protein is not an issue in the food unless the dog has urinary problems. You want to check the calcium. Too much calcium can cause growth issues. Slow and steady growth is key to a healthy mastiff as they continue to grow until 2-3 years of age.

Thanks! I just didn't want him to grow to fast. Lol

Is he pulling or just refusing to walk?

Umm both? See I have done all the steps everyone says. Walk around the house then progress with treats outside. He does good.. If I attempt to not do treats he will either flip out. Like turns around pulls away , chokes himself etc.. But then sometimes he just pulls me around, well try's to anyway.. I wouldn't mind the pulling cause then I would have an area to focus on and work at. But both? It's like we have a day or two of pulling then another week of flipping out.

Ok that's what I was thinking cause I had seen others mention soft poops on the earthborn.. Taste of wild was next on our list when I researched and settled on earthborn .
