6 more weeks until my puppy is due to be born. This waiting thing is killing me, Ive been in contact with my breeder since septemberish and am getting oh so tired of the waiting game. I know many people have waited longer but I have been working on getting a mastiff for the better part of 3 years and I really just want to have him home already.

Your not alone I'm "waiting" on my puppy too but I have plenty of things to do in the mean time, lol. Your pup will be here before you notice.

Cassie at Miramont Mastiffs out of PA. Out of all the breeders I got in contact with she was by far the most helpful. Seemed a lot of them either wouldn't bother returning my emails or the ones that did seemed to just kind of blow me off when I said I wasn't positive on the timeline I was looking to get a pup. Cassie has been in constant contact with me, offered to send me videos of the puppies once they are up and about and give me a personality run down as well as pictures for when it comes time to choose my puppy being that I can't see him ahead of time. I mean I would love to go but its just not feasible when the dogs are like 3000 kms from where I live. Because I can't go myself it was important to me to be comfortable with the breeder being I am basically counting on her and her knowledge of what I am looking for to help me get the right puppy for me.

That's the most important thing is to feel comfortable with the breeder. I found out the hard way that things can be decieving now I learned to trust my GUT instinct.

Keep us posted on your new pup would love to see some pictures!

4 more weeks as of yesterday. Spending this week puppy proofing my house. I have a bed, a crate for home and for work, a couple baby gates to set some limits and a couple toys. I plan on getting a couple more toys, he will come with a collar so I won't bother getting another one till he outgrows the one he has, I still need a leash. What else am I missing that I will need for him at first. And a question about bowls. How big should I have for an 8 week old puppy? Does it matter if the water dish I have for him is the one I plan on him having as an adult or should I start with smaller ones?

Be sure to have some nylabones or something similar for chewing, teething is oh so fun  As for the water bowl I dont think it matters, our 10 wk CC mix pup is drinking out of our huge water dish with our other big dogs. As for food I wouldnt go broke buying a bunch of different sizes. I would prob. get a medium sized one & just go from there .... by 'medium' size I mean a bowl that can easily hold 5 cups give or take a cup. Otherwise sounds like you just need the baby!!! So exciting!
