7 year old whining when rolling over

I have a 7 year old English Mastiff (she will be 8 in January) who, the past few days, has been whining when she rolls over to get up. It is not when she is standing up, but when she is rolling over from lying on her side to get up. She doesn't seem to have any problems actually getting up and she is not limping at all. I have noticed she has whined whether she is lying on her left or right side also. I have checked her over and can not find anything that is giving her pain at all. I have a vet appointment for her on Thursday which is the earliest I can get her in I was just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this at all.
She is eating normally and acting completely normal besides, when rolling over. She will roll over for me to pet her belly and that doesn't seem to bother her at all. I am just at a complete loss as to what may be causing this and not sure what the vet will be wanting to do when I take her in.
Thank you for any help and information you might have on this.

My first thought was a pulled muscle in her back but that's just a guess. Hope she feels better soon.

I have no suggestions to the issue causing her to whine when rolling over. I hope the vet can offer some advice. She may have the beginning of arthritis but she would be limping. Before accepting any medications from the vet, i.e. Rimadyl, Novox, Dermaxx, etc. Please research those drugs as they have serious side effects with no warning of death due to the medications.

Do you give the pup glucosamine?

Thank you both for your input on this. She is a pretty mellow and lazy dog and hasn't done anything that I have seen which could have caused a pulled muscle unless maybe it happened when she was getting up too fast or something.
She is also on a daily dose of Glucosamine, MSM and chondroitin, which I have made sure she gets since the whining began.
Are there any natural ways to ease inflammation if it could be the beginning of arthritis rather than just taking a prescription from the vet? I have a 7 month old English Mastiff who has been prescribed Rimadyl for a twisted knee in the past which I gladly accepted because she was limping so bad and I couldn't stand to see her in so much pain.
I would feel more comfortable if there were things that I could try instead of a prescription for the rest of her life to ease the pain. Thank you again for all of your help and imput.

I give Titan 1000 mg of glucosamine and 3 baby aspirin once a day in the morning. I started him on 1500 mg of glucosamine but he started getting diarrhea which is a symptom of too much glucosamine and 8-10 baby aspirin about 2 months ago.

He no longer limps which means he is not in pain.

I agree, best to get vet checked to confirm the start of arthritis before starting any regiment. The vet will talk you out of using any treatment other than medications, i.e. Rimadyl, Dermaxx, Novox, etc.
