8 Weeks Down, 4 To Go!

IMG_2876.JPG IMG_2545.JPG IMG_2868.JPG I just wanted to give another update on my sweet Cora!

We have just four more weeks of initial recovery following her TPLO surgery. She is walking very well and the muscles on her leg are finally starting to come back. I keep her in the living room still, but big brother Axel is able to join her and snuggle with her now. He is very good with her and knows that he can't play with her, so he ignores her if she puts a toy in his face (haha).

She walks for about 15 minutes a day now and we continue to do her stretches daily.

She will have a follow up appointment on Monday with her surgeon and my prediction is he will be pleased with her progress.

I appreciate all the support from everyone on this forum. It's been hard for her these past 8 weeks, so it's important for me to be strong for her.

I'm glad she's doing so well. She looks like a sweetheart. Keep strong, Mama, the time will fly by.

Follow up went great! Her surgeon was very pleased with her progress. He said she can play tug with me now (her favorite pastime), unlimited walks, and jogging in two weeks! And she is tentatively off pain meds. I will need to do her stretches for pretty much the rest of her life and fetch is not the best idea for her knee. But as long as she can run and play tug, that's all she needs in life. I'm just going to pray that her good knee stays intact. She's been such a trooper and very brave.
