Hey everyone,

I am not sure who on here uses these brands if anyone but heads up... it has been going around the corso groups that Purina is in talks to purchase Champion Pet Foods in the near future. I don't know what this will mean for quality or production or anything but a heads up to be watching what is going on.

In North America a pet food company is allowed to change up to 18% of the ingredients per year without updating product packaging. Think about it ... that means that if a company changed 18% of it's ingredients every year, you could have a completely different formulation in five years and you'd never know if you didn't have labels to compare. I'd think it likely that Purina would change the formulation at least a bit, so if might be a good idea to watch the labels.

It likely won't but what most don't know is there are rumors that there are serious lawsuits against Champion Foods for their pet foods. Not sure if they are to do with issues that are pet related or other things but I guess at some point the truth will come out... it always does

If that happens I'll stop buying their food. There's no way the quality will stay the same. Every day the directors will be asking, "How can we improve profit margins?", and if the managers don't deliver on it, they get replaced. That's the corporate world.
