Any pumpkin carvings to share?

Boo! You guys are no fun. It's okay though. I've got enough nerdy pumpkins to cover you all. Most of these are carved on faux pumpkins because I got tired of doing them every year. My old thread got trashed when Photobucket changed policies, so some of you have already seen these. I think they're still fun. I like ALL pumpkin carvings, so if anyone has anything please share. Until then, enjoy my nerdiness. IMG_6967.PNG

You are so good at the carving thing as is your daughter. I am not good at carving. We did sharpie stuff on our two pumpkins. I will see if I can get a pic of that later.

For Halloween we handed out candy. I did a quick easy "costume"... really I just put on a furry hat that has ears and painted a nose and blood drops on myself using eyeliner and lip gloss. :p
We recycled the dogs costumes from last year so they are chewbaca and the ewok again.

I am a blood thirsty teddy bear.

My dogs kept trying to lick off my "blood" and my nose. By the end of the night my blood drops were pretty much gone.

The dogs were super vigilant guarding our house from all of the weird looking invaders. So many of the children were so scared of our pups in the window that I had to walk halfway down the driveway to hand out the candy to them.
Even the cat got involved with the guarding.

Also last weekend we did the corn maze thing and picked out two pumpkins and that was a lot of fun too. Although it did start raining heavily on us halfway through the maze and we got drenched.

We also saw a bunch of farm animals at the maze and pumpkin patch. All in all a fantastically fun seasonal outing and well worth the drenching.

The trickiest part of the rain in the maze was not slipping in the super slippery slick mud. We managed to fall in the mud but it meant slower going.

This is my "well guess we got a little wet" chagrined look.

Too bad some of your treaters were scared of the pup/guardians!
Love the guardian cat pose! :)

Denna wasn't dressed up, and we left the door open - with just our see-through "screen door" closed (it has plastic panels, so more than just screens). We had a 2ft tall fireman come charging up to the door, and Denna charged right at him from the other side (we were there in a heartbeat... but she still looked ferocious to us!)... the fireman did.not.flinch. He was FOCUSED on his Treat or Treat job! I held Denna back while DH divvy'd out the candy. She had calmed down, then. But I'd say only 1 or 2 people were concerned with Denna backing at them through the door - and that included ZERO kids.

I'm not sure if I should be happy that the kids weren't traumatized, or worried that they have no concept of how to read doggie language, and might approach a truly aggressive animal in the future.
I decided to be happy. :)

Quite a few (out of the ~50 treaters) stuck around to get closer greetings with Denna, so she had fun, too.

And... sorry we don't have any pumpkin pictures to share... we have one real pumpkin on the porch - still uncarved - and then I put out two plastic ones that plug in on Halloween itself. Not very exciting around here. If we didn't have Denna helping out, it be down right boring!

That is a brave kid! I had kids that literally wouldn't come all the way down the driveway they were so scared of our pups. So I just met them halfway down the driveway. I had one kid who insisted over and over again that both my dogs were german shepherds... super scary german shepherds. It didn't matter that I told him no actually they dont have any german shepherd in them at all. He just kept insisting "No those are german shepherds".... sighs.

Thanks Nik! It took her a while to finish it, but it was definitely cool. Everyone thought it was a mask till she moved her mouth..

You are adorable too in your big furry hat!!

Thanks for sharing! Nik, as always you have the best pictures. I love your sharpie pumpkins and the dogs look great in their costumes. April Nicole, you guys look awesome and your daughter looks very much like you. You look like you could be sisters. And Jarena ... I think next year Lettie should get a full sized pumpkin. She'd do a marvelous job "carving" it!

Thanks April! That was my lazy procrastinator costume. The morning of I couldn't find my clip on ears I had been planning on wearing so I found the hat at the top of a box and that was that. lol

Thanks Boxergirl! I came up with the designs and my husband implemented it with our sharpie pumpkins lol
