Beds - what does your dog sleep on

I know there have been a couple of similar threads in the past year about bed recommendations. Seems the preference is all over the place.

We are back to looking for a bed to support our sprawling, frog dog, 4 feet in the air snore monster a.k.a Angus. He's far too big now for anything Costco sells but he loves the corner bolster to hold up his big head and also keeps him a little way from the wall. We've tried a toddler/twin mattress but not enough support for the foam ones and anything with the springs built in scares him because they don't feel stable to walk on. The fluffy one we got from the feed store is too warm for him - lasts about 10 minutes and then moves.

Hubby made the mistake of letting him onto our bed when we were doing renovations to our room and we had the mattress on the living room floor. Took a couple months to retrain both of them that no dogs on the bed - just not room even with a king size. Looked at Big Barker beds but wonder if they are worth the cost?

So what do you have for dogs to sleep on? Do they actually sleep on it? How long have you had it and do you think it was worth the cost?

We have the same one as dpenning. I can't really remember how long we've had it, maybe 6 months or so? My dogs all love it. I had to buy a second one, and would have bought a third one if my house had the room. Ever since we got it, Rhaegar chooses sleeping out in the living room in this bed rather than in the bedroom with us and different dog beds. The only drawback is that the largest size might be a little small for Angus. Rhaegar is 110lbs and fits comfortably, and my other dogs fit comfortably together plus a cat or two, lol. It was definitely worth the money for us. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

And don't they love them so much? :)

I have the same one posted for Hector and that one is upstairs when it's bedtime. Other than that, I have a bunch of coolaroo beds in the house. For a mastiff, I would not recommend the large. Hector fits on a med in the 48" crate and it's great. If you want a large, I'd suggest a pet cot from petcot.com. Other than that, they can sleep on the couch if they want.

Big barker here!! Love love! Totally worth the money. We got the XL. In hindsight I think I would've bought the one with the headrest. Company is great to work with and easy! We've had it for over a year and it looks exactly like when we bought it. These are old pictures but still great!![IMG][IMG]

We have a big barker. It was pricey but I figured with the 10 year warranty I'd go ahead and get it. We also have a memory foam bed from Petsmart that the puppy likes but it probably won't be big enough when she gets older. Of course they both prefer our bed.[IMG][IMG]

Dozer's favorite bed is a 6' bean bag. He can curl up in the middle, sprawl out without hanging over the edges, and roll around on it without falling off. I'll have to find a picture of him on it; he actually looks small on this monstrosity of a bean bag. In the bedroom, he sleeps on a twin sized memory foam mattress on the floor.

I was just looking at papasan cushions as you can get a 54" round one for under $70.00. I really want the XL couch bed that was posted but can't think of spending 150.00 on a bed!

11. I'm gonna follow this thread because I know we will eventually need something for cinder...
Right now I have put a few old sheets in her kennel (now that she hasn't had an accident over night for a few weeks) and she has the biggest pillow I could find at walmart... she doesn't seem to like the pillow very much anymore ( she loved it the first few weeks) but I think it's too warm for her now...
Eventually she will be upstairs in our bedroom at night, but we have to find/build something for the cats food and water so she doesn't get into it...

Wilson has two beds, mainly because for some reason in the day he likes to sleep curled up and at night sprawled out. For the living area of out house he has a massive oval shaped bed which has raised sides for him because he likes to rest his head on it and watch whats going on. In our bedroom we have a large rectangular slumber bed for him. Both are by Danish Designs and fabric covered. Part of the reason I chose this company is that they actually do dog beds large enough for our DDB.

The dogs are allowed on the furniture, so they have the couches. In the bedroom I have two XL memory foam beds that I bought for about $20 at Marshall's and TJ Maxx. They're just okay, but worth $20. In Ella's crate we have two foam couch cushions. They've been in there for three years and are still in good shape. No sagging or compaction. I did have to put new covers on them. I tried a crib mattress and it just didn't give any support. The couch cushions are my favorite until I can save up for some of those big couch beds.

Couch or floor...whatever he feels like...at night my bed.

16. We've got the Bowser Donut Bed. Its awesome. Very easy to wash and Muprhy loves the raised rim to rest his big head. They are definitely on the higher end of the price scale, but the first time i washed it, the thought that went into its design makes it worth while.

Oops, forgot to mention that my earlier post was in addition to the sofa, a reclining sofa, my bed, footstool (that he is really to big to lay on), and my lap. I guess I thought you would probably all assume that anyway lol!

I have a double king bed for the dogs and I to sleep in but I have a couple big barker beds and the dogs love them!! They are a bit pricey but in my opinion, well worth it! The first one I bought more than three years ago and it hasn't given an inch and the cover is washable and easy on and off and both dogs love them!! The have a 10 year guarantee and they don't smoosh down at all even when both dogs are on them together.

My dogs love these double fleece pads, I have them in all the crates and in my cars.

Crate Pads

We also have Kuranda beds, and the cot beds from daynakin as well.

She doesn't always use it as designed. :)[IMG]

But sometimes she does.
