All DDB's have big head issues. :) Apollo looks like Titan's twin except he has more white on his chest than Titan.

@DEB lol really, do you have any pics ?

Apollo is 92lbs and about 10 days shy of 8 months but because he is so short his head looks really big!

His dad was short and muscular, maybe 115 but the mothers blood line was giant and all had giant pumpkins for heads. I think he got his dads height and the mothers pumpkin head. Apollo is 22" in the front right now and just a little under 23" in the back. So basically at 92lbs he is a stump haha

My neo is 9 months old and between 125 to 130 and his head is huge. I tried to get a picture of my husband's head (because his to is pretty big) beside kazmaier's head but he wouldn't sit still. His head all of a sudden grew at around 8 months.

I notice his head is getting a lot bigger the last week it seems and he is sleeping a ton, Apollo's mother came from an amazing blood line with 160lbs+ dogues, just massive and muscular with the largest head I have ever seem on a ddb, he comes from Rolex & heimers debonair blood line which at one point were the best in show in the nation. I think Apollo will be very thick with with a huge head but not too tall, he is short like his dad but thick like the mothers blood line but I guess only time will tell!

I am guessing he will weigh around 130 or so and be really stocky and muscular, we will find out together as I always leave updates with pics!

Any Pics of your monster?

Oh I just realized you have a Neo, I thought "Neo" was his name at first! lol

I believe the Neo mastiff is typically heavier then the Bordeaux?

Yep just go to the neapolitan mastiff forum. I have posted some recent pictures of him there. The title is kazmaier time. Kazmaier is the same as your boy in that he came from very good lines. His mom was 140 lbs and his dad was 160. Kazmaier was born small but he is now the biggest of all his brothers and sisters. He is not tall at all but short and stocky and all chest, head and very thick legs. It is really interesting to watch him grow because he changes by the week. People say how big he is but he looks small to me..

I know what you mean, I feel the same way.

I have heard a lot of stories of the smallest dog in the litter wind up being the biggest as an adult. My guy was actually the biggest in the litter but I am not sure how the others are turning out.

How tall is Kaz? Apollo is short too, 22" in the front right now and 23" in the back end.

Kaz is about 22 at the withers as well! I'll but I haven't measured his hind just floor to shoulders. I keep in touch all the time with his breeder and she has contact with all 6 of kazmaier's brothers and sisters except for one who she can't get in touch with.

Haha-- yeah, Milton...Mateo is pretty big.
Here is a pic from a few months ago next to me for a comparison:

And this one in the snow was taken a week ago or so. He's 143 pounds and will be 3 years in May. His father was 160, and Mother in the 130's.

Masong11--- I read online that the breed standard for Dogues is for the height at the withers to be equal to the circumference of the head.

I tried it on Mateo the numbers were actually the same: 26" at withers, 26" head size. Pretty cool.

And your pup looks like he's going to be one big, thick Dogue...with a huge head!

Oh cool, I did not know that. Mateo is giant! Huge head! Great looking too.

I am moving from San Diego Ca to Denver Co and there will be snow, Apollo is always hot and I think he will like the colder weather. How does Mateo like the snow? looks like he enjoys it!

Masong11-- if there is a word stronger than love, than that is how Mateo feels about snow, LOL. The boy loses his mind when it snows out...and would happily spend all day buried in a snow drift.

I am sure Apollo is going to love the change in weather. Mateo doesn't deal well with the heat, but I have never seen him get too cold. There was a day this winter that was 4 degrees F and it didn't bother him a bit...

And thank you for the compliment- I think Apollo is a very handsome guy as well. :)

@Masong11, moving to Denver, how cool! Titan used to sit for me for his pic but now when he sees me taking a pic, he will do a quick look to me and turn his head. Little goober! I have to be quick. :)

Titan really hates the heat. Since we've been hitting the 80's with some high humidity, Titan will not walk his usual mid-morning (11am-12:30p) walk. He will do his business and turn around and walk back to the car. He's done this the last 3 days. :( He walks in the morning (5:30-6am) just fine.

I think Titan is going to love VA weather!
