Boerboel Growth Spurt

Hi Everyone- I enjoy reading all the threads and gain great info from so many. Just a quick update-our Boerboel Daisy is 7.5 months and measured 25 inches. Her weight is 108 lbs. A bit of a growth spurt. Her training is coming along very well. She is EXTREMELY strong and I am thankful she does not have the bad habit of jumping up on people. She has a strong prey drive so treats on lead are helpful when the squirrels, lizards, birds, etc run near. She also has some fear issues that come and Go with different noises/objects. She’s petrified of my daughters stuffed animal with the large bug eyes yet doesn’t hesitate to charge the door at a stranger. Go figure. Stubborn is her middle name but also eager to please-especially during training. She never leaves my side. She continues to be a true Velcro. I am hoping that the growth slows a bit. She seems enormous already at only 7.5 months. The family loves her. Love this Boerboel. Hope everyone is well.

Gorgeous! And "velcro" might be a Mastiff's middle name! Wonderful animals. Keep posting the pics and don't worry about the weight. My girl is a CC and she is overweight (reflects her human parents:rolleyes:) rocks the scale at 147 (15-20 over where she should be.) But...she is SOLID.

As for being brave at the door and scared of stuffed toys...hey, the stuffed toys are creepy, unless they squeak, and if they squeak they must be destroyed and the squeaker terminated. It's all part of the job.

Looking forward to more pics and posts.

Shes beautiful, looks a perfect weight.
When i think back at my eldest ccs fear stages i can remember thinking these are meant to be a gaurdian breed and fearless, at one point he was so scared of the dark, if a fly farted hed jump lol. But hes now my loveable fearless protector, all 3 are.

That’s too funny! Our BB is the same way! Great to hear that other Mastiff owners experience the “fear stage”. I have to remind myself all the time that even tho she’s so big, she is still a puppy and seeing and hearing things for the first time. Thanks for all the responses. Here’s some pics I took this morning of her standing. Have a great day everyone.
