Hey guys,

I know a lot of you wonder where your mastiff should be at weight at a certain age. I know I do! :) In all reality, some mastiffs grow faster, and some have slower growing lines. Most mastiffs grow till they are 3+ years old.

But, here is my Mastiffs weight growth so far. He turns 9 months on 10/18/11. :) We went to Petsmart to get him weighed today.

Bonez

8 weeks - 21.8 lbs.
11 weeks - 28 lbs.
12 1/2 weeks - 39 lbs. -- 18 1/4 inches tall.
13 1/2 weeks - 43 lbs.
14 1/2 weeks - 47.6 lbs.
16 1/2 weeks - 57.2 lbs.
17 1/2 weeks - 63.2 lbs. -- 21 1/2 inches tall.
18 1/2 weeks - 68.8 lbs.
20 1/2 weeks - 75.0 lbs.
23 1/2 weeks - 90.4 lbs.
6 months ----- 100.2 lbs.
6 months & 3 weeks -- 106.2 lbs.
7 months ------ 113.0 lbs.
7 months & 3 weeks -- 123.0 lbs.
9 months ------ 135.2 lbs.

Thank you! I will add mine, and admit, I too am curious about height. Stonewall is an brindle male EM. Some of this might be a smidge off. Sometimes I remember the x 2.20462 to convert from kilos to pounds and sometimes my memory fails me and I use 2.2  Very grateful I didn't get him when I lived in the UK.... I never did manage to convert stones to pounds properly either LOL

1 weeks - 2 pounds 6 oz
2 weeks - 2 pounds 11 oz
3 weeks - 4 pounds
4 weeks - 5 pounds 7 oz
5 weeks - 8 pounds 4 oz
6 weeks - 10.6 pounds
7 weeks - 16 pounds
8 weeks - 20 pounds
9 weeks - 23 pounds 13" at shoulder (this is when we brought him home)
10 weeks - 28 pounds 14.5 "
11 weeks - 31 pounds
12 weeks - 36 pounds
13 weeks - 40 pounds
14 weeks - 44 pounds 19"
15 weeks - 47 pounds
16 weeks - 49 pounds 20.5"
17 weeks - 55 pounds 22"
18 weeks - 58 pounds
19 weeks - 63 pounds 23"
20 weeks - 66.5 pounds 24"

I don't think he will be the largest EM ever, but he's also not tiny. And I am happy with the steady growth that he is doing. Will be interested to see what he is at 6 months.

Well Marley is almost 11 weeks old or will be in 2 days just got back from the Vet and have been told he is now very healthy and piling on the weight as he was very under weight before due to diet, worming needed and the runs so...........

11 weeks - 21.6 pounds 14.5" shoulder

Hopefully he can catch up with any weight loss he had before now things are on the right track again.

Correction got him to stand still long enough and with the help of the wife to measure the height properly he is 15" at the shoulder.

I haven't measured Bonez height in a while, but he's about 29" if I'm not mistaken. He's a short, stocky type mastiff. :)

I just had a freak out tonight as I am meant to be feeding Lewis the packet food and the right amount for his weight. I thought I was, but then noticed tonight that I have been feeding for a 15lb dog, not a 15kg! Eeek - no wonder the poor boy has always seemed to be starving! I weighed him though and he is now 15.7kgs, and was only 14.5 on Saturday so thankfully he hasn't lost weight due to my stupidity and is continuing to gain. I have been supplementing with a few raw meaty bones (every second day he gets one) and just started giving him what the kids don't eat if it is dog suitable (usually just plain meat and three veg as they like things bland, and it's the greens they don't eat which are good for dogs) so thankfully those little extras have helped fill the gap. In pounds he is 34.6 at just over 12w which isn't too bad looking at everyone else's weights, although I won't be making that mistake again! He enjoyed the full quota for his weight tonight - with gusto!

Wow glad to hear everyones doing well I like this thread, although just in case anyone looks at my info I have to point out that Marley is 3/4 EM and 1/4 Neapolitan and more to the point you never know how a mix will work out. What I am getting at is he may very well be quite a bit smaller than your average EM so don't take my weights etc as a guideline to your own EM's ).

Although from what I have read on various forums and places weights and heights really do vary some are slow or fast some are just smaller or bigger so I wouldn't worry too much as long as your dog looks healthy and not all of his ribs are showing when he is standing I'm sure it's all good.

For some reason Marley looks very much like a Tosa Inu as he gets bigger.........lol very athletic and colour etc but then saying that I can also see the Neo in his face. But he is a handsome beast and all is well.

Growth dogs weight should always be controlled not to excess, because the potential to become obesity. Problem of obesity is not only struck a man. A new study found an increased rate of obesity in mammals ranging from mice wild to domestic animals and laboratory animals.

In dogs could also happen the same thing. This change can be something as simple as more and more artificial environments created by humans. Light pollution and sleep disorders have been associated with obesity. And even likely that the air conditioning and central heat also play a role.
