Collar & Lead Input

Hey all!

I wanted to hear about the collar and leashes you are all using on your dogs. Pictures, brands, etc are all welcome. My 1 year old is not done growing and we currently have a 1" thick leather collar and a Kong rope type thick lead for now.. however, as he is getting bigger and stronger we are in the market for something more durable that gives us more control.

All pics are encouraged!

Thanks all!

Custom braided paracord martingale from DMikeM as well.

I've also used plain choke chains(walks),, nylon, leather. You name it. I needed something durable that wouldn't absorb smell that I also had a little control with. My dogs are always in the water. Mikes collars for that bill.

I use the 2" Amish Leather Collars for my two EMs. I purchased then from Leeburg.com and love them. They have lasted months with minimal wear and tear in spite of the two beasts wrestling and grabbing at them while they play. I've been very impressed with the quality. I purchased them when they were about $20 per but they have gone up.

Hector has lots of collars, but the best one is from Mike. I also had a slip collar made (from etsy) so I can attach it to the quick release martingale. I also have a leather martingale that I haven't been using as often, but I love that one too! I had lots of leashes too, but I gave those away and stuck with the leather ones and one double ended 4ft leash from Mike. Also, can't live without the convenience of a slip leash!

What is the purpose of the braided collar? Does it do something special?

The paracord ones? They're sturdy and hold up well. Mike makes them to size so theres no adjusting and potentially having the collar slip. Plus its hard to find collars with quick resleases that hold up to these big guys, but the ones Mike uses do.

I myself for a lead I use horse leads. The rope kind for the simple fact that they are cheap. At a supply store I pay $10.00 a lead where for a dog leash depending the material is $20.00+. The clip is big and durable. If it can hold a horse it can hold a mastiff lol.

I keep at least 6 leads. 2 in the house, 2 in my fianc*s truck and 2 in my suv. This way I'm not misplacing them and I always have extras.
