My boy Magic is 1 yr old CC... he is only around my wife's 3 year old Cocker Spaniel... He is rarely around other fogs unless its during our walks and he acts terrified of even tiny dogs.... will this ever change.... I am somewhat concerned. He barks if anyone comes up to the house but he will run from any size dog besides our Cocker Spaniel....

It seems he needs to be socialized with other dogs, that is a learned behavior, try to take him to a dog park and slowly introduce him to other dogs.

My eldest cc was the biggest poopy pants until he was around 14 months, not with dogs, he would act nervous on walks around where we live, I'm in the countryside in the UK, yet in busy places he was fearless, we just kept going and going, can you go somewhere that he can watch other dogs interact then slowly introduce to some, you must make sure they are friendly he doesn't need any bad ones, does he see your cocker interact with other dogs,

What Glen said. You want to make everything as positive as you can. Don't force him into any situation he's uncomfortable in. I'm not a fan of dog parks in a situation like this. At least not letting your dog go into one. I do use them from a distance so the reactive dog (yours/mine) can watch and be rewarded for calmness. I wouldn't allow him to practice the behaviors you want to stop. If he's reacting, then you're too close.

I really appreciate your input guys... he seems to be getting better.. on our walk yesterday this pit bull walked up on us from behind... I didnt notice him until he was 5 ft away from us... then I heard a low growl... I thought it was the pit....lol
It was Magic... he stood his ground and the pit simply turned away and ran off... then we walked past another guy walking his Rotti... Magic just looked at him and kept walking.... nor.ally he wouldve ran away !!
