Debate section

Though I know the answer already...is it possible to have a debate section on the forum? Or is that too much for some parents?

I'm not talking about what was going on in those thread, I'm talking about a CIVIL debate, like those boring politician elections. Letting off some steam might be good for some folks

Like S/N and ear copping does for me.

I really wish that was possible. I've been on some other forums where they had a debate section and it was awesome. At least right now I don't think it's possible here but we'll bring it up with the head honchos since they are the only ones who can make sections.

I say it's worth a try. People just need to learn some manners! The rest of the forum should not be punished for what other did. IMO

on our fila list they made a section called troville and i think its an awesome idea, anything goes and we have some really good debates there, that way if your virgin ears cant handle it dont go to the section, then they do not havce to see anything they dont want to, its your choice if you go there. I am all for it cause i slept in this morning and now there are threads that are locked and i can not reply to them, i feel stiffled. Yes it can get nasty but for the most part it stays pretty civil with the odd name calling but hey were human :scared2: :razzberry:

That gets tricky mountain because we can't have rules that apply to just part of the forum. Like I said well run it by the higher ups and see what they say. We're just the lowly moderators ;)

We all get fired up dd. And that's to be expected but there are certain lines you do not cross.

I know of a few forums like that, amazing how it starts off and ends.

Just my opinion but it would be great to have this added. One little area where lines CAN be crossed a bit and let the debate peter out on its own. Everyone would be aware of what they may find in there and could just step out if things got to be too much for them and you couldn't bring the "debate" into the rest of the forum. I have missed the last two locked out threads because work keeps getting in the way of my social life. :)

Smart I realize that. But before these last couple of days has this happened often or is this an isolated incident? I am still new to the forum and before the two threads you are speaking of I've only noticed one other thread shut down.

I know damn work, but I won't complain about it too much as I might be out of a job soon...

There are some topics that always end badly. We try not to close threads unless need be but after seeing how these things turned out in the past we need to institute some preventative measures sometimes.
