hi everyone,i am new here.i have a problem. The problem is that i have a Dell Studio 1749 laptop whose 9 cell original dell battery which is few days more than 1 year has started to behave real awkward. When i put on the charger it charges the battery upto a certain level and then the battery led signal above keyboard starts to glow 4 times red and one time white and the status says under temporary failure mode. After I remove the charger and wait for 10 min approx the battery comes under normal condition. The main problem is this level until it charges is decreasing and has come down to 73 % now. What should i do?Previously same thing happened and I contacted dell services and they told me to upgrade bios and although the problem did not get resolved instantaneously after bios upgrade but on next day it got charged till 100%. Now same problem is back and now i am out of warranty period and i know dell will say to replace battery. I checked net about this in many forums but to straight answer... can anyone help me with a direct solution. My bios is now A10 and upgraded that to A11 and then again flashed back to A10 as dell forum gave this as a solution to lower down bios!!!please help battery going down fast!!!!

Both our Dell inpiration Notebook and our Dell Mini had battery issues shortly after the 1 year warranty was over. The new batteries cost about $165 each so we have to use a power cord for them. When we contacted Dell they admitted issues with batteries but said that since we were out of warranty, blah, blah blah and in short we would have to purchase new ones.
