Does anyone have experience with Zylkene for anxiety?

I came home from Al's annual with a bottle of Zylkene instead of Composure Pro. The Zylkene is very expensive compared to anything else we've ever used so I was hoping for some personal input before I open the bottle. It was a different doctor this time and she was really pushing me to put him back on Fluoxetine and Alprazolam, but I refused. Those take away his happy. A boxer without their happy is a very depressing thing. Thanks in advance for any input. Here's a gratuitous picture of happy Al.

Oh, I meant to reply to this earlier. Mazey was on Zylkene for a while after my schedule changed when I started clinics. I was gone a lot more, and she was isolated from the other dogs while recovering from her TPLO, and then she had anxiety/stress induced GI ulceration and started vomiting blood (yikes!). The Zylkene seemed to help her some, but it was pretty expensive. With all the other medications and supplements my guys get, it just got to be too much to afford. We then switched her to the Composure treats, and she did equally fine on that. So I don't know that the Zylkene is necessarily worth the price.

Thanks for this. I've used Composure Pro and like it. I've also used Lactium, which is a milk peptide, with good results. My daughter works at this clinic and the receptionist was gone when we left the appointment, so I don't know what our actual cost will be. I'll go in to pay tomorrow. If it's within reason, I may try one bottle just to see. If not, then I'll just return it for Composure Pro. The regular price of $62 for one month seems silly, considering it's just a milk protein.

Thank you all. That is my favorite picture of him. Al is cute and very sweet. He's also very ... special. When he's happy, he's very happy and we look forward to those times. When he's having a bad day, he's a trembling mess in a ball for no reason I can identify. I think it must be very hard to live life so concerned all the time. Sometimes he makes me very sad. That picture shows how he *can* be, and that's why we both work so hard to make life less concerning for him.

I thought I'd post an update on how Zylkene is working for us. We're about ten days in and I'm not seeing that it's worth the money. I had just as much success using a lower dose of Lactium (Women's Stress Formula on Amazon), milk peptides, or Composure Pro. He gets Benadryl every day for allergies and L-Theanine, so this is in addition to those. I won't be buying more. When my daughter leaves this practice or moves out, I will no longer get a discount and it would have been $83.25 for a 30 day supply. I ended up paying $37.25 and I figured it was worth a try for one month. I expect to see a miracle for almost $84. Maybe it works better for other people, but I'll go back to what works equally as well for us and for a lot less money.
