i have adopted out a dogo cross american bully 3 weeks ago he is 2 years old i have three children he was absaloutley amazing with and a female bully he absaloutley loved.
Due to circumstances i could not keep this boy as much as i would have loved him to be a part of our family it would just not work as i am a single mom whom already has a dog.The original owner passed away in february of this year and he was his everything so myself not wanting to see this boy end up in a shelter or spca said i would take him and find him his forever home.
it had taken a while for me to find him a family that i thought would be suitable for him and was familiar with this breed.thinking all was good and i had finally found him his place i recently three days ago had a call from the surrey spca as the people i had adopted him out to did not switch the info on his chip they traced him back to me ..Thank god!!
i thought maybe he had gotten out and they would deffinitly be in to pick him up or at least be calling around to find him.I was wrong ive stayed in contact everyday with the spca and still nothing they have said nobody has come to claim him .I have explained to them hes great with people some males he seems to show a bit of dominance towards but other than that ive never experienced any kind of issues when i had him except the typical breed traits such as testing his pack limits etc needs a firm master and somebody familiar with more so the dogo breed.
Well they have told me that this boy is very agressive and nobody can get near him hes trying to bite all staff etc .This was not this boys personality so i am going to assume he is in high stress and going through some fear aggression.
I have been residing over on the island and they have told me that i have until tomorrow 5 30 pm to pick him up or he will belong to the spca and informed me just today they will not even try to adopt him out due to the aggression he is showing and this dog will more than likley be euthanized.
If i could make it back to the mainland to pick him up and keep him i would be there !! this is not the case though i am due to have a child in two days and this is all very unexpected i am super stressed out even the thought of what this boy is going through:(:(!!PLEASE if anybody knows how i can help him or a rescue group or a family or individual who understands this breed that will adopt him please help me help him!!!

Oh, wow! That is very close to me.

The SPCA is no place for a dog... It's such a stressful environment and filled with really bad energy.

Hugabull might be able to help? They are technically a pit bull rescue group, but I don't know of any dogo rescue groups in the area.
