Don't know what tested means

:banghead: so I've been browsing around for a possible future dog. Posted on CL, got a few bites. One lady says she had dane puppies avaiable, I had a feeling what it was. But just went along. Exchanged a few bits of conversation back and forth, I ask her if the parents were tested. The breeder asked me what "tested" meant?

Well, I guess you know where you aren't getting a puppy, huh? :) How frustrating that people continue to breed puppies without testing the parents and even worse when they are breeding them and have no idea that they should be testing them. Of course, I always hesitate at moments like this since if it weren't for the BYB's that bred to untested dogs 5 hours from me in Alabama, I wouldn't have Ruger.

What the shame is did you educate her? Explain what testing, types of testing, the better respect she would get if she did even on an accidental breeding?

Some get into this and never learn how to properly do things

I couldn't Deb honestly........if she didn't know what I meant I doubt she would even care. I think she was just trying to get rid of the pups from her "oops litter" I did ask her about the parents and she said the mother was on site but the dad was in Norfolk. However she would bring the dad over if I wanted to see him. So to me it doesn't sound like an "oops".....but that's not my interest.
