We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

Declan has been eating well past couple of days. But today he ignore all his feedings. He loves ice. Almost to an obsessed level. So I had some frozen green peas and put them in his food. He ate all of it and a little extra. I think the tasty ice peas might be the trick for him when he is finicky about eating.

Another reason in think he gets moody about eating is we put him in his kennel for at least 30 minutes after eating. We are terrified of him getting bloat. And I think sometimes he doesn't eat because he doesn't want to lay down afterwards. Do you guys think we are being too precautions about bloat or is that how most of ya'll prevent it.

I think that‘s the right thing to do. We limit exercise before and after eating, as well (in addition to feeding relatively small meals at a time). In addition to toppers, we have been adding some wet food (cans) from time to time and mixed it with his kibble. We use small amounts but he seems to really like the taste and it increases his interest in the food. Just something else to consider. Luckily, our EM loves to rest right after his meals, so it isn‘t to hard to limit his play and exercise.

Typically declan will go in his kennel without any issues. We have imprinted that on him since the day we got him. His reluctance to go in his kennel is usually on days when he hasn't gotten enough cuddle time with us. With our new schedule he is left alone for a little longer than he is used (not a long time but still longer than it used to be). I think the little one is smart or stubborn enough to not eat to prevent going in his kennel

That‘s possible. I totally understand your concerns regarding bloat. We are very cautious too, but don‘t crate him after meals (unless he decides to go in there to take a nap). I‘m ok with him walking around or chewing on his toys (no running in the yard).

We are having to crate him right just because of the other puppy. If they are both awake then they are playing wide open. Once they get older it won't be such an issue. Right now it's very difficult to stop them from playing. The crate he has is the largest one available on the market. So he has plenty of room.

wow really... I take my dogs out for a walk right after eating. Mind you its a controlled walk at my speed not theirs which is really really slow "I'm a granny here so the only speed I have is super slow. lol I never thought about bloat.... I've always taken the dogs for a leashed walk after eating ... thats how I trained them not to go potty in the house. And trained myself also not to be a couch potato. :p
