English Mastiff not eating, change foods?

Hello All,
My boy "Duke" is 17 months old and weighs about 145 pounds. He has been on Eagle Large Giant breed adult dog food. He eats 5 cups in the morning and 5 cups at night. He's not fat and you can not see his ribs. He has had 3-4 occasions where he hasn't eaten. Went to the Vet a few weeks ago and had a stomach virus, the vet said he's been seeing alot of dogs with this. He has eaten fine after the shot but doesn't eat his food all the time like he usually does. Should I switch his dog food? If so, what kind and how much. Thank you very much.

hmmmm, maybe he is just needing less food. I dont have an EM I have FBs but my 130lb bitch eats 3-5cups of food a day. if he doesnt seem to be loosing weight then dont worry about it, it may just be that he has gone past his major growth spurt and requires less food...I hope this is the case for youy because 10 cups of food a day must be a small fortune, lol. goodluck.

WOW! 10 cups a day is outrageous! Im sure its because he doesnt need that much... you should read the bag for the recommended amount of food for a dog that size. I believe it would be around 5-6cups a DAY. Seeing the last 2 ribs on a dog would mean they are at a good weight.

could be a dog in heat somewhere, mine will slow down eating when that happens. Also he could not be needing that much. I feed moose six cups a day, our 240 pound EM gets 8 cups a day
