When my Corso was younger he fell in the pool and I think it made him afraid of deeper water. I'm guessing he was a few months then he's 9 1/2 or so now. He will play in puddles (rolling, digging, flopping, etc), has zero problems with bathing.
My parents have a standard Poodle that loves water so I took them out together and played fetch with the Poodle in the water. There was a small section of water then a part with water about ankle deep. I went and stood on that part so my dog would have to at least get in if he was by me. He basically just jumped that section (after a while of being on the other side barking) and watched the Poodle swim. He would act like he wanted to play and barked but would never even get in to his shoulders.
I can get him to come lay right beside the pool and a couple of weeks ago I got him to set on the steps a little bit he bolted as soon as I took my hand off him.
I ask because it always seems like I see pictures of Corsos in water.
Thanks
