How much does a boerboel puppy weigh at 14 weeks?

Not huge on weight for bragging rights, but I'm not sure my puppy is eating enough. She'd rather play and gets distracted. We've tried to feed her and my other dog separately but then she just tries to get at him. He eats, but it seems like she never gets around to it.

I wouldn't worry too much about her appetite as long as she is eating regularly.
Mine is 18 months and has never seemed all that enthusiastic about his food :)
I just focus on making sure that what he does eat is high quality.

Thanks for your response Dan. How much does your 18 month old weigh now? I love this breed!

My Odi was 75# at 4.5 months. Weighed in today at 118# @ 7 months 10 days. They all seem to grow at different rates. Boys are different from girls. Farm type different from guardian type.

Hi jtripps
I really don't know what he weighs now.
I did make a note that he was 65Kg at 11 months - but then at 13 months he was still only 66Kg.
They do seem to grow in fits and starts.
He is filling out more at the moment - but it isn't possible to weigh him anymore without going to the vet.
Many people have advised that you don't want to rush their growth and give them time to develop their structure without too much weight too soon.
My breeder advised that they only really fill out between 2 and 3 years old.
For me, one of the great things about this breed is that they can be absolutely massive - but still have the "bounce" and vitality of a smaller dog.
Topguard Kennels in the UK have some good stuff on facebook and their website about the breed.
There is another guy called Jeff that posts on here who imported a couple of their dogs (littermates of mine) to the US.
Regards

Dan

I went with Prominent Boerboel out of Virginia. I'm happy with the parents. I just have to be patient. Like you said, I don't want to rush it. She has a great temperament and is very loving so we're happy :)
